Two Houston, Texas school district police officers pinned a 15-year-old girl face down on the floor on Tuesday because she didn’t want to relinquish her cell phone to an assistant principal.
In a video of the incident, one of the cops who tackled the girl can be seen ramming his knee into the side of her head, reports local CBS affiliate KHOU.
Why did cops even respond to this call, and why did this escalate to her on the ground.

Three cops tackling a girl
over her fucking phone
amazing

They're school district police. It's their job to respond to stuff like this. School districts in Texas have their own police force.
They really fucked up. Stupidly heavy-handed.
I'm probably reading too much into it but I can just picture the third officer that just stood there while his colleagues downed this chick wishing he were somewhere else at that moment.
this said police department probably sends SWAT to rescue cats from trees.

ISD police do have swat teams for shooter situations or other violent situations.
violent situations.
Such as warrants.

They send in the SWAT team to swat flies.
Bet they don't get punished at all.
Police State USA
My cousin is swat in an unnamed ISD and they had to stake out for days waiting for this cunt kid that kept setting their shit on fire. They eventually got him.
Reminds me of a similar case that happened in my county, some freelance journalist was assaulted aka arrested for filming a crime scene...anyways, he won 200k in police negligence. At the end of the day, justice will be served.

I read it as tickle and giggled for a minute then I read it again and it sunk in.
I got sacked in the 4th grade by a 250lb cop for basically tipping a few books over on accident in an empty room that I was trying to relax in.
Long story short, they called an ambulance because they magically found out that I was asthmatic as fuck as the time, and they almost killed me by putting a massive amount of pressure and weight into the upper part of my spine.

the fuck
The police did nothing wrong, the phone could of been a disguised AK-47 or RPG
wake up sheeple
school rules banning cell phone use completely are absolutely dumb and backwards
no surprise really some of the ISD police we have here can't seem to handle situations apropiately, i went to clark high and i swear it literally felt like prison. Camera's everywhere, cops patrol the property and you had like less than 2 minutes to get from class to class or you got in trouble
school rules banning cell phone use completely are absolutely dumb and backwards
The only rules I think should be used are those where the teacher takes it, and you get it back at the end of the class

Ours is pretty small on our campus considering we are a 6A school. They usually just handle drug/vandalism/major crime stuff, which makes sense for larger school districts.
Couldn't help but think of this

Flashbang through the foliage!
She should have just put it in her bag and then when they asked for it, she just has to say she doesn't have it, then when they try to search her bag, she must refuse, that refusal then makes them searching it illegal without a warrant, which I'm 100% sure they didn't have. School is going to get sued either way for this I'm sure though.
Those who will ask why this is illegal:
Students still hold all of their Fourth Amendment rights, they relinquish their First Amendment right in schools, as schools are considered a legal guardian in that respect, this is for dress code purposes. The only way you can be searched without a warrant is with probable cause by law enforcement, bag or car was sniffed by a drug dog for example and it did whatever they do, sit or whatever. Having a cell phone isn't illegal, thus she broke no laws, thus no ability to search for phone anyway, unless she was a suspected terrorist or something.
A fine to get your cell phone back is ridiculous, especially from 15 year olds who probably have little to no money of their own

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that the school gets the right to search your stuff without your consent
I actuality graduated from this school in 2013 and used my smart phone during every single one of my classes. It's very likely she got an attitude towards the officers. School is a bit ghetto but definitely no gangs an shit. They are allowed to do random drug searches and shit which I only saw it happen twice in 4 years.
the fuck
I went into a room after having an argument with a few other classmates[was in computer class], and went to an area where I could cool off so I wouldn't do something stupid. Next thing I know three cops bust through the door with guns raised, screaming at me to get on the ground, I freak the fuck out, and go up and drop some books on the ground, attempt to apologize and went to pick them up, and ended up getting tackled by the heaviest officer, and then shackled at the hands.
I basically laid on my stomach and began to breath harshly because I was in a literal panic regarding the situation. They hardly gave a shit aside from one officer who realized I was asthmatic and came running and tried to lift me off the ground, and go scolded by his fellow officers. My teacher came in eventually to see what happened, and when she saw me having the asthma attack close to passing out, she freaked out on the officers and told them to get me off the floor at that instance.
Do to the conditions of the case, I was left off with 60 hours of community service, and put on probation for two years. My probation ended toward the end of my 6th grade year, and then in the 7th grade I ended up raising a fist to someone for telling me to commit suicide like my uncle did, got thrown off my bus and had to walk home, passed out in a Starbucks after drinking a small bit of water, got taken home by a Starbucks worker, and stayed home the next day. Had I gone, I would of been taken down by a SWAT team that was "tipped" by the people who told me to off myself. Why you might ask? Because they told them I was going to bring a gun to school and shoot everybody.
The next day I came in, and I was already in a bad mood because the same fucks decided to take a pocket knife to my backpack, and as such I had no way to carry anything to class[oh and they ripped apart my textbooks!]. Well I goto the Principles Office to make a complaint, and... boom. Arrested for disturbing the peace at a public institution. I got lucky on this charge because the officer who arrested me was actually the same officer who tried to help me back in the 4th grade, and was willing to listen to my side of the story. He ended up booking the other kids for harassment and wrongful reporting to law enforcement.
Even though the officer managed to get the charges off my head, when I returned to school, the district decided that I was "violent and unpredictable" and made sure that I was given half day's through out the entirety of the 7th grade. Was forced to either walk home or ride the "retard bus" home.
It's sorta one of the reasons I'm a highschool dropout. Sorta got fucking tired of the bullshit I had to put up with for either protecting myself or trying to stop myself from doing anything wrong or violent.
The only rules I think should be used are those where the teacher takes it, and you get it back at the end of the class
The teacher should have no business stealing someone else's property regardless of the length of time.
If someone is being a twat with their cell phone, kick both them and their cell phone out of the class.
