When we launched Google+, we set out to help people discover, share and connect across Google like they do in real life. While we got certain things right, we made a few choices that, in hindsight, we’ve needed to rethink. So over the next few months, we’re going to be making some important changes. Here’s more about what you can expect:

Using Google without a Google+ profile
People have told us that accessing all of their Google stuff with one account makes life a whole lot easier. But we’ve also heard that it doesn’t make sense for your Google+ profile to be your identity in all the other Google products you use.
So in the coming months, a Google Account will be all you’ll need to share content, communicate with contacts, create a YouTube channel and more, all across Google.
Finally. G+ is absolute shit.
Thank god, about time.
the occupation has finally ended
aaaaaaah finally
it's too late, I've already been made a victim
Google+ was the only change on YouTube that was actually worth hating.
Thank fuck, now I don't have to deal with Google+ anymore. Always hated it.
There goes 99,9% of the Google+ userbase.
finally i don't have to be confused whenever i try to visit a youtube profile
honestly what difference does it make? you make the account and forget about it. having a g+ page doesn't mean you have to use g+
Does that mean I'll be able to see age restricted content without switching to my Google+ profile, instead of just watching it with my YouTube account?
I'm just glad it will stop asking me to use my real name, it seems to ask me every other week.
Lol google+ didnt change my youtube experience one bit. you guys are a bunch of whiners.

Well, there's also the very inaccessible inbox.
I always have to google a guide on how to find it.

This whole G+ thing fucked up comments.
I've had people comment on my videos, even some asking me questions. But ever since the G+ update, I've been unable to reply to half of them.
Their comments just don't have a reply button.

holy shit what, I thought they deleted it with the g+ update
this is like opening a present in the closet with your name on it and finding a dog skeleton inside
Google+ was the only change on YouTube that was actually worth hating.
Well, making the videos off center and for no reason having a shit ton of empty wasted space that was otherwise useful was a pretty bad change

so stop refusing to get a g+ profile?
Apparently people in the Facepunch hangouts chat doesn't think that google+ is shit, and even defends it.
Honestly, its a terrible attempt by google at social networking. Its already way behind facebook.
so stop refusing to get a g+ profile?
If I've made a Youtube profile and posted a Youtube video to my Youtube profile on youtube.com, which should I need a Google+ account to participate in the comments? The Google+ integration was a terrible idea to begin with, didn't make any sense, and it's absolutely ridiculous that they've left it for this long.

Wow that was the darkest comparison I have ever heard.

That's the thing - I do have a G+ profile connected to my account, it doesn't change a thing. Still can't reply to many comments.

This. Holy shit all those issues made me furious, especially hiding/nesting the messages and taking out the notifications for them. Not only could I not even comment on my own videos, but I lost all my old PM's going back to 2009 which were really important because I lost correspondence with various modders and even lost a message from Valve.
Now bring back youtube username Urls
Hallelujah.
Finally, I hope that means no more comments that are "Check this out " with 20 of his Google+ friends liking it, putting it on top of the comments section, yet doesn't have a reply button.
Google + reminds me of Zune. Just came out too late.
Lol google+ didnt change my youtube experience one bit. you guys are a bunch of whiners.
thank god
we were all so concerned, but now that we know that your youtube experience hasn't been affected mark6789, we can all rest easy!!!!!!
So when can I drop the pointless G+ account they attached to my YT account without my consent?
Google+ was the only change on YouTube that was actually worth hating.
That, and removing subscriptions from the front page and turning it into a cesspool of videos google things you might like.
