Apparently he wasn't told to take it down for offending Muslims but because he apparently had a gigantic U.S. flag which is against the landlords property rules of affecting the aesthetics. Honestly, sounds completely reasonable to me.

People say the same thing in the UK, I don't think its true though, the media puts a lot of work into making the non muslim population fear muslims. The muslims I met during university were really relaxed about stuff, watched the world cup, supported england and generally integrated well, while respecting themselves and their beliefs. There are also lots of fake articles going round spreading misinformation and hate.
