I get what they're saying and some of their warning signs are sensible but profiling anyone who criticises the government as a radical/extremist is some tyrannical russian type bullshit.
Scepticism and criticism is something we should seek to foster and enhance in our society, not quell it and force conformity and ignorant acceptance of the, often unrepresentative or false, narrative pushed by the government and media.

Bonus pic our dear home secretary looking fierce (note she may not be related to this, probably is since she's an asshat, but putting blame on her would be jumping to conclusions)
Oh fuck off. Disagreeing with a policy doesn't automatically make someone an extremist.
She's an extremist... extremely retarded.

Just so we're clear I'm not sure she's involved in this, probably is, but we can't be sure.
Oh well, time to burn some refugee camps and kill some people in bars. Maybe even go on a suicide mission.
Its the duty of the citizen to question their government though?
So, teenagers who dress weird, do stuff on the computer tgey don't want their parents to see or hate politics are potential terrorists, good to know that almost any counterculture harbours potential terrorists.
That's some 1984/V for Vendetta type shit right there
To be fair, a lot of the replies to this thread seem to completely ignore the "may" part of the title.
It's quite true that questioning Government or the media is a characteristic of many extremists. Obviously it's also a very common characteristic among a lot of more or less normal people, and I'd say the leaflet seems to be aware of that.
You could definitely question how useful the leaflet is, though, as the points are super vague and describe a shit ton of people who are probably not extremists, but that's pretty much any "10 signs your teenager is..." ever.
I find it rather silly that people are upset by this.
If you think this is propaganda from the Government, trying to label anyone who speaks against the Government as extremists, you're pretty silly.
-Devil's Advocate-
It's still mostly fearmongering bullshit in this case.

It's either useless scaremongering or propaganda, the government shouldn't be doing either.

So are we just going to legitimize articles which base themself upon may and might's?
These are news articles with no real basis.

Because the addition or subtraction of "may" doesn't make it any less a retarded statement.
"Young people who question the Government or media may be extremists"
"Young people who think for themselves may be extremists"
Anyone "may" be an extremist. Publishing a leaflet designed to scare parents into being more critical of their children because "extremism" is extremely fucking stupid.

The leaflet suggested questioning the government as a potential sign of being an extremist.
Everybody I know questions their government and dislikes the media. A poll from the independent had 70+% of british people being opposed to airstrikes in syria (thus disagreeing with government foreign policy), disagreeing with and questioning the media or government or government foreign policy is normal behaviour and is in no way indicative of extremism.
So why would they see fit to put it into a leaflet?
Oh this is how it all starts. Now the scare tactics are getting real. Show any disapproval towards the current government? You're a fucking terrorist. Go rot in hell.
isn't one of the main jobs of the opposition in the parliament is to question wtf the government is doing? (which is a good thing?)
Next they will be saying that you can no longer vote for the government that there's only the party.
Guess I am a terrorist then.
You guys should rise up and overthrow your tyrannical British overlords, just like we did!
Wait a minute...
Fucking fascists. It's like they read 1984 and identified with the villains.
Well, they're not wrong. I doubt a younger generation that blindly accepts anything the government does or says are very likely to be terrorists.
EDIT : woops, 2 letters can change the entire meaning of a sentance
Yeah, when your kids start using words like 'equality' and 'rights' and 'Jeremy Corbyn', you might as well call a fucking armed response unit.

The PM already labelled the opposition terrorist sympathizers so I don't think the government care anymore.
Is J. Edgar Hoover back from the dead and living in the UK now?
Theresa May can rot in hell if she tells me I'm a terrorist by calling the British government out on being an absolute sham.
I guess keep writing, if I get charged with terrorist offenses then think about what that would do against our government in the public eye? It'd be easily worth it

Almost all of that is normal teenage behaviour.
I don't know to cry or laugh. Why has europe gone to russia level of brainwash recently
I know it's cliche to say this is some 1984 tier shit, but this is some 1984 tier shit.

On the right side, all of the bullets except the last and maybe the first are actually concerning
