In my school, there's a kid (won't mention name) who get's picked on because he's smaller than the rest of us. During the incident, he tried to throw a punch in self defense (to no success). Now he got suspended for 3 days "because he attempted to do physical damage and didn't run to tell the teachers".

From the school perspective i can see why they would do that, but in a moral perspective thats unfair and shitty.
I always imagined someone trying to run and find teachers while a bunch of kids are punching them in the back, then I laugh, and then I forget what I was doing.

So a kid tries to defend himself, more than likely to prevent future bullying, show hes got guts.
So they suspend him. So the newest school rule is "be a pussy or get the fuck out"

That's the way school is now. Teachers expect you to look like a bitch and walk away. What they dont understand is that that will get more kids to fight you because they know you wont fight. It's bullshit, but suspension is a little price to pay for getting some respect.

Maybe the school will realize how bullshit Zero Tolerance is when a kid runs into the school with an AK-47 and no one tries to stop him because they don't want to get suspended...
Why don't you support him and argue your case to the the staff? If you believe it was unfair and that someone else should be punished (like those jumping him [unless you're involved with them]) then present it to them.
