Planetary Annihilation already achieved 83% of its goal! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts
from this video I kinda am afraid they're focusing on visuals too much.
As long as it's well optimised.
If they put in homeworld type space combat I'm putting my arm and leg into this.
$200,000 more dollars just for them to add naval units and water planets seems pretty high, but the game looks like it's gonna be damn good so whatever.
they're already greedy as shit for asking for 900k.
To make a modern game? You're kidding right [editline]25th August 2012[/editline] Especially one that involves seamless transitions, massive scale, and TA/supcom-like unitfests
they're already greedy as shit for asking for 900k.
Games aren't free to make dude.
they're already greedy as shit for asking for 900k.
Having lots of artists on a payroll probably demands a decent sum of money if you're working on a large scale project that cannot easily borrow from an existing engine with all the extravagant planned features. I don't think any one of us knows exactly if 900k is what would be necessary, but I think it sounds about right. As for the game itself, I really didn't think they'd be able to pull it off because of all the outlandish ideas and the sheer scale of the project. I looked into it though, and apparently most of the people who work there came from studios which worked on big RTS titles, like Total Annihilation, Demigod (although technically that's an Action RTS) and Surpreme Commander. I still won't be entirely convinced until they've got some working demos, but they're highly experienced developers and if they manage to pull it off it should be quite a fun game.
"it's kind of like a metal map" nostalgia.
Fund for it have really slowed down, they barely got $30000 today. It's kind of sad that a point and click game managed to raise more money than a full on RTS.
I don't have money for any of the options, only 16 dollars in my paypal. I really hope this gets the funding needed.
i so want to donate to this but they don't take paypal as a payment method :(
I don't have money for any of the options, only 16 dollars in my paypal. I really hope this gets the funding needed.
that gets you the same as 20 dollars.
that gets you the same as 20 dollars.
Fuck then I must have read it wrong. *sold out* :suicide:

Oh man, once i saw that "cavedog" coffee cup i smiled so joyfully.
