I really like my revenant avatar, but I've developed somewhat of a reputation for that spam-dance animation. Every time I try to use the avatar people come up to me and start bugging me to do the "spooky scary skeleton thing" so I can't use the avatar very often.
I had no idea this guy was a youtuber. I got on really late and met a bunch of people I had never seen before so I just started showing of avatars as usual. Apparently he was one of the people who followed me to the old hub. The wierdest shit always seems to happen late at night.

You put them together in Unity using an SDK plugin, so essentially, anything you can put into Unity you can get into VRChat, with a few restrictions.
You can get pretty creative with it depending on how much unity you know.

So I assume on connection it gets distributed and loaded as a module, so to say? That way all clients have it and can view it?

When I first got the Rift, Orkel toured me around VRChat. It was such a strange and otherworldy experience. You're immersed to the point that you feel a slight dizzyness from moving around. Add to that, Orkel's fucked up characters with globes for asscheeks, his Finnish accent and everything just becomes like some surreal dream thats playing out right in front of you.

It's very common for people to port the same models as you in VRChat. That's why you typically wanna customize whatever you port into it.

I know fuck all about unity so I kind of feel like I'm missing out.
Are there no publicly ported models? I found a website full of models ripped from old games, like grover from that sesame street game that vinesauce played, but discovered I'd have to rig it, which I don't know how to do either.
It's good in a sense that it makes custom models nicer, considering there's a lot more effort behind them, but it's a bit of a barrier I guess
You need to put some work into it. It'll take a few hours to get your first avatar in but it gets easier every time you do it. The tutorials and the discord channel help a ton.

Yes, it works on pancake screens. Lots of players don't use VR in VRchat.
