A pre-release version of Sony's Killzone 3 has reportedly hit torrent sites, just a day after the leak of Crytek's Crysis 2.
The European version of Killzone 3 has apparently been made available on a handful of P2P sites, and can run on hacked PS3s. There are two files in the wild, one including 3D capability - which weighs in at a bulky 41.4GB - and one without.
Sony will no doubt be working overtime to spot pirates, so it kind of goes without saying that downloading either file is very much not a good idea.
It's not as if there's too long to wait for the real deal: The news comes little over a week before Killzone 3's release date - February 22 in the US and three days later in the UK.
The PS3 exclusive has largely impressed critics. CVG gave the game an 8.5/10 score in our Killzone 3 review.
An early developer build of Crytek's Crysis 2 hit torrent sites yesterday - a full month before the FPS title's planned release date.
I Honestly am starting to hate the piracy community. Sure, a Crytek employee leaked the game, but, it does NOT help when there is people out there who would have bought the game and now decide not to due to this shit. Same goes for Killzone team.
Yeah, blame pirates for leaking the game, but ignore the fact they can't pirate it if it isn't leaked. Yeah, those evil pirates! How dare they! Yeah, it's not the person that leaked it's fault at all! It's those damn dirty fucking pirates!
You do realize how fucking stupid that is right? The pirates are blameless in this, they're just douche's for downloading, it's the leaker at fault here.
And i bet sales of both games will still be fucking fantastic.
Well that sucks...

If anything, you should hate the vast majority of pirates; not all think like that.

You didn't read my post did you? I said it's Bad enough someone inside leaked it, it just does NOT HELP that there are people who WOULD HAVE bought it, but decide NOT TO. Those are lost sales, not some guy who would have NEVER bought it, these people WOULD have bought it.

Most pirates i've seen, want to buy good games. And they often do.

I don't hate all pirates, just a lot of the community. It's most, not all. I have a few friends who pirate then buy the game- They are (morally) in the right.

It's the fault of both the leaker and the pirates.

Most pirates I've seen never buy the game.

Except you have no way of knowing that those people simply WON'T buy it. They might very well. I know people who've downloaded the crysis beta, and are going to buy the full game. I guess those people don't exist or don't count in the grand scheme of things.
The only fault that exists here, is with the leaker.
funny thing is if you were to pirate this it would end up costing more than the actual retail price
Most pirates I've seen never buy the game.

This, "But I buy the games I pirate!!!11" is not a good excuse, you might, but most do not.
Wasn't there a study a year or two ago that showed that music pirates were something like four times as likely to purchase the music as opposed to non-pirates. I'm pretty sure that its pretty similar with games pirates. Perhaps more-so because, unlike with music, you can lose functionality when pirating a game.

yes!
oh cool, i see. Your experiences > my experiences.
Too bad that's not true for you. Not all pirates think the same. Not all pirates only pirate. It's like you people actually think all pirates are the same and have the same motivation and that not one of them could have the unique fucking thought to buy a game. I'm sure a lot more of them buy games than you give credit to.

I know the music part is true. i'd believe the games part to be equally true.

I never said they all won't buy it. I'm talking about THAT GROUP. The group that WON'T. Not the entire pirate base. Why are you so defensive of pirates?

Because you're being stupidly offensive?
This topic keeps appearing in different threads, so I'll just say the same thing.
This does not appear to be a leak in the sense of the crysis leak. This appears to be a retailer breaking a street date and someone putting it on a torrent site. If that is the case, then its not really news. This happens to loads of games just before release.
Hell, I got the Crysis Beta, liked it, then preordered the game. I had no real intention of getting the damn thing until I played the beta. I have no intention of getting Killzone 3, but I might get this leak and try it, then decide if I want it.

How am I being offensive? No seriously, explain it to me so that I may better it.
funny thing is if you were to pirate this it would end up costing more than the actual retail price
Yep, true dat. IMHO, judging by my crappy Cable connection, if I were to download a 41.4GB ISO, it'd probably take me about 4-5 days... if it's about a game I _Really_ want to play, I wouldn't be able to sit and wait that long, I'd go ahead and purchase it.
Of course, that's just me.

Because for some reason, this site makes a million dumb fuck assumptions about pirates and how pirates are doing all this shit to ruin the industry. It's all bullshit. Uninformed bullshit.
I'm pretty sure if piracy was the bane of the industry like so many posters here make it out to be, that the entertainment business in general, wouldn't be pulling down more money than they've ever pulled down before.

Fair enough, I guessed you had (it sounds like something a news site would use to draw in readers)

The reason people are like the way you describe, is due to the propaganda the companies spread. They are losing money, however little and petty it might be, they want it. Greed. This is all Human bud.

You're making stupid assumptions of pirates and the entire situation, while simultaneously sticking your fingers in your ears whenever someone makes a counter argument so you don't have to try and grasp the fact that pirates aren't Hitler Youth who burn down game companies while curb stomping your grandmother's skull.

Yes because it is a pirates fault that an employee has leaked a game before it's official release. Do you hear yourself?
That's how so many people have been acting about the Crysis Beta leak. Like Crytek just got hit by an atomic-fucking-bomb and will never make another game again. Like somehow, an unfinished build leak will somehow cause Crytek to go in to a death spiral as their bank account is drained of all its funds. The game isn't even out yet, so its impossible for it to have had any effect on Crytek yet. And it is simultaneously impossible to know what effect, if any, will be had at release because you can't tell how many, if any, sales were lost to pirates. What, are you gonna go, "Only two million were sold the opening weekend, so obviously 6.788 billion sales were lost to pirates."
Ahahahah, I will download neither this nor Crysis 2, but I find it completely hilarious.
OKay, I'm gonna ask. How are they playing this? No videocard natively plays the cell shading engine contained within the PS3.
These shit for brains leak this content but how are you going to fucking play it?
