Didn't see anyone posting this.
I watched this a couple days ago, Adam Savage inspired me to get into cinematography, I dunno, hes just such a cool guy and enjoys doing what he does without a care in the world (seemingly anyways!) I would kill to do what he does.
The whole gluing three slabs of wood to make a single seamless piece is great.
The special threaded insert and install tool he uses 1:03:00-1:04:00+ is pretty great. Had no idea you could do that.
"I'm sure you've studied this picture for a while"
Was that serious, or was he making a joke about it having a sexy lady in it?
The artisanship in this is incredible. He really has that veteran air to him with the confidence he has in his tools/skill (going for a hands on approach while not wearing protective equipment) and the amount of special-made tools/shop equipment he's made himself.
edit: oh no he forgot the trigger!
I wish he would have hooked that bit at the end on his shoulder, it looks like that's what its for.
Pretty cool
Although he did a pretty shoddy job at inserting the barrel into the wood, the tip still sticks out a little bit
Also never installed a trigger

Probably has something to do with the time limit.
He should take the firing mechanism off some replica ww2 gun, install a trigger, and attempt grain for the 2nd one.
Also Imperial measurements are so confusing that even Adam got confused.
