Maybe you should read the book. These interviews don't do justice. I had a grandfather with cancer, and he would slip in and out. How many colors do you know of? My grandfather new more existed. I've never seen it mentioned in the bible, and if you ask me, it's not something people just make up. Just read the book. You can get it in the library if you're to cheap. It's like a day or twos read. After that, then you can talk.
The parents have probably told this kid these details about his relatives or he has overheard them, then after dismissing this information his conciousness has constructed this reality based off his christian upbrining.
Sounds to me like he just experienced an extremely vivid lucid dream, something which is common-place with near-death scenarios. The experience is truly astonishing, its amazing what your brain can construct from your subconscious mind. This is what has happened anyhow, previous information this kid had heard or seen which he didn't realize was pushed back into his subconscious where it then materialized within his dream.
It astounds me why people would write books and create a documentary on the absurdness of this being a true religious experience, when the scientific implications behind lucid dreaming and the subconcious mind are far more interesting than any of this religious nonsense. It also astonishes me how lucid dreaming is not common knowledge, otherwise retarded myths like this wouldn't exist, most religious or spiritual experiences have been said to occur in dreams, or hallucinations formed from extremely vivid dreaming. Or an OBE which can be as realistic as reality. His subconcious merely created a dream which would emotionally help him through his medical treatment, thus because hes extremely religious his subconscious knows he derives strength from such an experience, its also obvious that the dream characters would show him things he liked to calm him down, that makes perfect sense, that was just his subconscious attempting to calm him down in general to advance through the treatment.
It also seems as if the parents simply interpreted the kids dream in a way that would make it seem like a true experience, being a kid he merely incorporated what they told him into his actual experience.
