So what was the point you were trying to make? English is the most used language in the world, simple as that.

That Americans are lazy, stupid bastards.
Sweet rant, what are we supposed to be talking about?
You learn English because everyone learns English therefore global communication.
Get out. This is just a big fat generalization/rage post.
Britain owned most of the world at one point, there is a reason English is dominant...

Good job generalising and brewing up a shitstorm fucking dumbass :downs:
When the majority of websites become available only in Esperanto then I may be inclined to learn it, but for now, everything I do deals with reading/typing/speaking English.
The mastery of the English language doesn't just entail the completion of sentences and proper grammar, it also requires that you make sense.

Why, you're quite welcome then.

You didn't read it at all did you?
a small portion of us do learn another language, i know a fair bit of french.
the internet is in English because it is the most popular language in the world and easy to learn, and you a criticizing us for "googling" everything we do not know but in the real world its the same thing as asking someone for help.
So your point is that people around the world should be all speaking a different language so the globalization is... less boring? Or is it you raging about how english became "the" language?
Most certainly it's because basic english is easy to learn. That's really what makes an international language. But you can also make very beautiful and complex sentences, making English perfect.
I know English and French, that doesn't make me better than people that only know one language. Most people probably won't even use another language in their life time.
I posted this thread just a minute ago and i wonder if you just read the first paragraph.
Breen stop making shit threads.
I'm English, but I speak German and French too. But the reason that it's so wide spread is 'cuz we owned most of the world in the british empire, things stick.

Not everyone is retarded, some people can actually read fast.
Only took about 30 seconds to read it all, and another 5 to totally disregard everything you said within it.
I posted this thread just a minute ago and i wonder if you just read the first paragraph.
6 minutes actually.
You said it right there in your post, it's an easy language to learn. That's why.
And by the way, i'd say a good half of facepunchers do speak multiple languages so be quiet.
I speak english, german, polish and a fragment of french.

Did you read the thread carefully or did you just wanted a post for agrees?
I said: "Globalization should not be monolingual, it should be multilingual, as in, learning as much languages as you can[...]"
I can speak French
My first Language is English...
No, it's your fault, when we try speaking your language abroad, you just speak english back to us, you can't be arsed to help us learn you language. It's easier for you to speak english.
The British Empire was the largest in the world, ever, meaning that dozens of countries across the world have familiarity with it. It's also very easy to learn due to being very similar to a wide range of other languages - if you know German then you can very likely learn English.
A unified language forms a basis for global trade and communication. If everyone spoke a different language, trade would be difficult as all hell.
My first language is Dutch, I have to learn English, French and German.

In all fairness your post was very hard to understand and generally didn't have a point.
