• Intuos 3 - 6x8 vs Intuos 4 - 4x6

Wacom Intuos4 4x6 $169. Wacom Intuos3 6x8 $170 Can't decide which to get. I see myself using zbrush a lot. 25.5" monitor, 1920x1200 resolution. Any help would be appreciated. I know nothing about tablets!
I think the larger size is more worth it. They are the same in terms of pressure levels and accuracy so larger is better in this case. The Intuos4, while handy with it's buttons and gizmos, doesn't make up for the size difference.
Aren't the pressure levels of the 3 1024 while the 4 has 2048? Or is the difference negligible for a hobbyist.
Ah you are correct. I think you won't notice that much of a difference, but in reality I use my Intuos4 for lightweight photo editing where pressure isn't a critical factor. Maybe someone else can weigh in.
I'd figure pressure sensitivity is important in zbrush, it's virtual clay modeling really. Hopefully we can get another opinion.
I don't think you will want to work on a 4 x 6 though.
Yeah 4x6 is pretty fucking small.
Go with the 6x8
Ordered the 6x8. Cheers.
Hope you enjoy your tablet.
You should have saved up some extra bucks for a medium Intuos4, it's tilt sensitive, when you constrain proportions you will get almost the whole screen, and 2048 preassure levels feels sweet. But i guess you made the right choice, concidering your budget. Have fun with it! I've heard many users prefer the surface on the Intuos3 better than Intuos4 too.
