From the halls of Congress to the campaign trail to the international stage, there's always something that gets a laugh or a second glance. Here are some of the things you might have missed. USA Today reports that the infamous "Mission Accomplished" banner which found its way onto the USS Lincoln during former President George W. Bush's speech on the war in Iraq, has found a home: At Bush's presidential library. Alan Lowe, the director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, told the paper that the banner "now sits in storage and will become part of the library's collection." A decision on how or whether to display the red-white-and-blue banner hasn't been made, said Lowe.
It's cute that Bush still thinks we won... :smug:

In all honestly this is news? Don't all war-related presidential items eventually get archived or categorized somewhere? Anyway, good to know it's not going to be in public or anything.

Technically speaking, we did win the "Iraq War". Occupying on the other hand...
I wanted to put it in my bathroom, rigged up so it comes down every time the toilet flushes.
How does that make him still think we won? Maybe he just kept it as a reminder of his mistake or something, or as something funny in hindsight?
We did win. There is a difference between completing objectives and holding onto them. Think of yugoslavia.
[Iraq War] something funny in hindsight?
What?
What?
Funny as in "ha I can't believe I said that", not "ha ha ha people died"
Usually, yeah. But it's ridiculous that Bush feels that we still won. He's a fucking moron...
No. He was, as stated many many times in the past, stating the crew aboard that particular fucking aircraft carrier, not the entire fucking armed forces of the United States, had accomplished their mission in the context of the speech he was giving.

It was just funny when it was shown the first time...
