I'm happy I wasn't born during that time period. Shit seems really dangerous.

Those men weren't called "The Greatest Generation" for nothing, they went through a hell none of us could even imagine. Let's hope we never have to endure another World War, because if we do it'll probably be 10x worse.
I'm happy I wasn't born during that time period. Shit seems really dangerous.
Honestly, I always thought if I had to fight a war it be WW2. Something about fighting insurgents in impoverished nations, with terror/suicidal attacks being a common trope, isn't appealing at all. Also just for me personally, WW2 just has alot of interesting innovations I would love to see firsthand and be astonished. [sp]But then you might see a concentration camp or something, so I guess it balances out, but my preference.[/sp]

There was also the sturmtiger firing which there is supposedly only one video of it firing and that was in black and white yet the same thing but colored is in here at 1:33

I don't know however, forgoing the use of NBC weapons, how high the civilian death toll would be in proportion to WW2. We do have much more precise weapons systems, but also much more destructive ones. Being an infantryman in such a war would be fucking horrible though, even in comparison to WW2 - There's so much technology now that can't be defeated by your average infantryman and could wipe them out with the press of a button. I just hope it never happens because I don't think it'd be something civilisation would recover from as well as WW2 and that's saying something [editline]15th July 2014[/editline]
yeah this looks very much colored in post
I don't doubt that the majority is, I think "Recently discovered" is in reference to the footage its self
No kidding. The first colored TV came out in the 50's. There was ONE instance of colored footage from the allied side of the entire war being found
doesn't mean that color film didn't exist prior to home television sets wizard of oz was '39
I always liked this one. Well made vid.
My only problem is that at 2:44 it shows a American half track on fire with Americans being burned alive, while it tries to portray French resistance against Nazis. Besides that misdirection, great video.
