Eeeeh...
I mean jumpscares may have been an easy target, but fuck it's a start.
things i'm tired of seeing: maddox

This video was way better than his last few because it's actually true.
To be fair, The Orphan [sp]was about an adult woman with some hyperpituary disorder masquerading as a kid. Although that twist didn't really make the movie any better or scarier [/sp]

I think he's missing the point about the bloody hand prints though, since most of the time it's a person using someone elses blood to make the hand prints on the walls, not the bleeding person themselves.
Considering he focused on kids it seems like the bitter old man description of him is fitting better and better.
Much better than his last couple of "angry old man" videos.
I don't mind zombies if they're done right.. 28 days later/Shaun of the dead.

in that case they're just kids drawing turkeys on the wall, which falls under the category of kids
Pretty sure the different names for zombies are not to avoid the name zombie, they are describing their behavior and type of zombie.

Yeah, because biters, roamers, geeks, rotters, et cetera are all very specific ways to identfy what kind of zombie you're dealing with.

Then what's the point of making a hand print if you're using someone else's blood
If some psychopath wanted to leave a message in someone else's blood, why would they make it a hand

Alright, who do you think we should be watching?
the idea of a bloody handprint makes sense when its used right
someone, critically wounded, who died desperately trying to escape the monster/whatever, and this is the only trace of them left. that's why they're best used (sparingly) on doors and stuff. when its used to suggest any other kind of context, or used en masse, it doesn't make any sense
Considering he focused on kids it seems like the bitter old man description of him is fitting better and better.
no.
kidd actors are like 95% shit
no.

In a way, it at least makes the good / decent child actors seem much better.

because there's not always enough blood to write "HAHAHA I HAVE HANDS"

I'm not saying they aren't shit.
Maddox just seriously sounds like a old man half the time now.

Why? For hating kids? Since when is that an old man thing to do? Kids are shit, you don't need to be old to realize that.
Why? For hating kids? Kids are shit, you don't need to be old to realize that.
Ironically, that's pretty immature.
↓ Yes, hating children and blaming them can be considered childish.
Ironically, that's pretty immature.
Why is it immature? Disliking certain things is now considered immature?
Note that I am not defending Maddox though, if you listen to his pod, you will know he is actually a dumb moron.
Why? For hating kids? Since when is that an old man thing to do? Kids are shit, you don't need to be old to realize that.
Because his last few videos have targetted/argued something like an angry old person.
Because his last few videos have targetted/argued something like an angry old person.
Point taken, can't disagree with that.
You guys like this video, but Maddox still sounds like an old angry grandad moaning about how terrible our generation is and how his did life much better. It's a shame, since his older videos didn't seem that way because he targeted very niche areas (Spiderwoman's butt) or trends with an objective take (the wage gap).

kid actors are shit yeah, but maddox sort of misses the point with them and why they're such an established part of horror as a genre
he even cited one of the (arguably) best horror movies ever in his vid, and the main kid in it
kids are (can be) scary in horror films not because they're inherently scary, but because they represent something that should be innocent. when something that is innocent is shown as violent or "evil", it inspires shock and tension - which is why danny (and the two little girls) produce tension in the shining. danny even moreso because he's clearly an innocent kid, but something is gripping him and potentially going to make him violent.
the shining is heavily laden with atmosphere and is one of the things that makes it great.
the problem now with kids in horror is that it's been done to death. because of the fact that now we expect shitty scary kids and dolls and shit, they're boring. there's nothing shocking anymore about some kid screeching or whatever.

In MGSV when looking at [sp]child soldiers[/sp] Miller says [sp]they're as dangerous as a man with a gun but have no sense of right or wrong[/sp]. That's a pretty interesting and likely under explored concept for horror.
maddox is full of shit a lot of the time (just listen to his podcast) and I fucking love him for it, it makes it funnier, especially dick's (podcast cohost) reactions etc
you can tell that a lot of this video stems from his 'hatred' of kids, it's hilarious when you think about it in that frame

this
a lot of his shitting on kids is just part of his character/persona
