Apparently the Triceratops might not have existed.
Scientists are saying that the Triceratops dinosaur – you know, the three horned one – was actually a juvenile form of a Torosaurus, the three-horned dinosaur you don’t know. Apparently, dinosaurs’ skulls can shape-shift. The scientists, John Scannella and Jack Horner, believe that the Torosaurus and Triceratops are actually of the same species. According to the scientists, as a Triceratops aged, its horns and frill became more similar to that of a Torosaurus. Short becomes long, saw-edged becomes smoothed and so on. Having them be the same species would explain why there were never any young Torosaurus fossils discovered. "The duo say there is a clear transition from triceratops into torosaurus as the animals grow older. For example, the oldest specimens of triceratops show a marked thinning of the bone where torosaurus has holes, suggesting they are in the process of becoming fenestrated"
Source
I call bullshit. That was my favorite one :smith:

RIP Triceratops :patriot:
I call bullshit. That was my favorite one :smith:
Doesn't this just mean that two species are actually one?
Come on he was the best fucking one.
Blablabla I can't hear you.
Then rename the Torosaur to the Triceratops.

Triceraptors are cool, and I call bullshit on the story. But they're nothing bad in a sense, they're cool. It's the fucking VelOHSHI-

My life is a lie. :frown:
My life is a lie. :frown:
2 pac and Elvis are still alive. And Hitler is still alive and is currently living on Antarctica.
No more broceratops? Brorosaurus doesn't have the same ring to it.
Maybe it's the other way around. Considering how the Triceratops seems a lot more like an adult. It has larger horns and actually has other horns that grow out of... whatever you call that plate thing coming out of their heads.
Dammit, that was one of my favorites.
2 pac and Elvis are still alive. And Hitler is still alive and is currently living on Antarctica.
I was just listening to 2pac. :sigh:
My childhood.....it's all shattered....
My childhood.....it's all shattered....
Technically what you know was Triceratops existed, just...apparently the young version of some other piece of shit
It looks to me like it'd be the reverse; Triceratops looks like it can fuckin' own a T-Rex, Torosaurus, not so much. Did you even see what scientists think they did to protect their young!? They formed a circle, a MASSIVE tight circle around the younger ones, and blocked anything from getting in. If a Rex or whatever the hell else tried to bite them, they'd get a mouth full of horns and frill.
I totally forgot Pluto...

That thing looks like it's trying to smile.
That was my favorite one :smith:
Perfect avatar. More on topic, I never had a favorite dinosaur, so I wouldn't care at all even if they somehow proved dinosaurs never existed. They're dead and gone and have little relevance these days.
Well, I'm open to science, so try me
This is unlikely, they said the same things about the Tyrannosaurus rex and the nanotyrannus. [editline]10:44PM[/editline] Also the Triceratops was larger. It's head was 3 metres long.
Not to long ago they were saying pterodactyls had feathers.
Damn longnecks!
this just RUINS my day.
