Workmen discovered the remains in undergrowth on Monday
Timeline: 13 years of waiting
Bones found by the side of the M5 motorway in South Gloucestershire are those of a woman who has been missing since 1996.
A bin bag containing bones including a skull was found by a workman next to a slip-road at junction 14, on Monday.
Melanie Hall, 25, went out to Cadillacs nightclub in Bath on 9 June 1996 and has not been seen since.
Despite the offer of a £10,000 reward and several TV appeals, no trace of the hospital clerk had ever been found.
A workman stumbled across the bag as he was clearing vegetation on the slip road off the northbound M5, north of Bristol.
The discovery was said to include a significant number of bones, including a skull and pelvis.
'Partially buried'
Following examinations at a mortuary near Bristol on Wednesday, pathologists were able to confirm that the bones were from a female.
But sources at Avon Coroner's Office said cause of death was yet to be determined.
Det Insp Richard Budd said the death was being treated as "suspicious".
He added that only some of the bones were found in the bag - and others were scattered nearby and "partially buried".
Forensic teams set up a white tent at the scene shortly after midday on Monday, after the discovery at the exit for Thornbury in South Gloucestershire.
Miss Hall's next of kin have been informed.[/quote]

Was probably a dog or a bird, or weather balloon.

I think the fact that there was a human skull in there kind of rules that out. And the fact that the police questioned us about it, and found out who it was.
We did get some local news coverage, come to think. And they called us children! we were 16-18. :(
Weather balloon makes sense though.

It was monkey remains.
Well at least she can be put to rest.
I would say it's a shit place to hide a body, but considering it took over a decade to find out what was in one of the many, many discarded bags lining British motorways I'll certainly consider it the next time I don't know what to do with a murder victim in a bin bag.
That is a long time, and considering a lot of the bones were partially buried, either the murderer got frightened off while burying them, or 13 years of lying by a road have been good fun for the local wildlife.

I like how Brits always complain about how Americans "butchered" the English language, while the people in countries like Spain couldn't care less about what Cuba or Mexico or Argentina do with the language

I like how you put it in quotation marks, even though it's completely true.

Only the Southern Accent and Ebonics, those of us who actually pronounce our words speak much better than the Brits.
