SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A fast-moving line of storms barreled across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest Friday evening, killing a woman in her trailer on a South Dakota lake and leaving thousands of people without power.
This storm was absolutely terrifying. My brother is still out of power down in the city hope he gets his power back on soon. Plus from what my sister said a bunch of straight winds knocked a bunch of trees down in there area
Damn, it must be rough out there;
The rain was so bad manhole covers were blowing off sewers and washing away cars.
I just barely got hit by the worst part of the storm. Didn't even think it was that bad until everyone dropped from steam one by one as the storm went along. Then I went downtown and there were trees and power out everywhere, but my jeep got to splash some puddles.
This was a crazy one. I've been in a hurricane, and that's what it looked like out my front window. Drove through the cities at night and it was like there were giant dead zones where everything was pithcblack.
My friend's car apparently exploded after a tree landed on it. His dog got maimed pretty badly too apparently when he was bring her in.
Fuck, it's just rolling into west Michigan now.
Fuck, it's just rolling into west Michigan now.
if that is where you are, stay safe.
Drove through St. Louis Park and Hopkins earlier; giant trees were uprooted and a whole lot of stoplights weren't working.
-snip-
A lightning strike scared the hell outta me and burned down a nearby duplex. You knows the weather is messed up when its 85F and humid at midnight in Minnesota...
wtf are all of those lines all over each state do you seriously have to divide 50 states even further? why is the US so complicated with this shit how are children supposed to learn these things
Those are counties, you typically (atleast at my schools) are not expected to memorize every county in your state, let alone the entire US.

there was a few inches of water in my carpeted basement yesterday, spent 12 hours vacuuming and shit, then it rained again and made it flood worse. I hate rain.
Yeah Saturday morning I looked out the window and I couldn't see much beyond the driveway. Realized that was all rain falling straight down. The parking lot across from my workplace had a good 2 feet of standing water in it (fortunately nobody parks there). I can't imagine we saw the worst of it here in Sioux Falls though. My car is really clean now though. :v:
