Fox News has the most trusted network and cable news coverage in the United States, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Monday. But network TV is much less trustworthy than it was in the days of Walter Cronkite, American voters say.
In comparison rankings, 29 percent responded that they trust Fox News the most. CNN follows with 22 percent, CBS News and NBC News are at 10 percent, ABC News at 8 percent and MSNBC at 7 percent.
Asked whether they trust the journalistic coverage of each network, 20 percent said they do “a great deal” for Fox, and 35 percent said “somewhat.”
Comparing today’s programming with the heyday of network news, only 7 percent of those surveyed think the information presented now is more trustworthy, with 48 percent responding that it is less so and 35 percent answering that it is about the same.

This chestnut has been floating around forever:
Here's the choices
When asked, "Do you trust the journalistic coverage provided by FOX News," 20 percent of U.S. voters say "a great deal" and 35 percent say "somewhat." Scores for other networks are:
NBC News - 14 percent "a great deal" and 46 percent "somewhat;"
ABC News - 14 percent "a great deal" and 50 percent "somewhat;"
CBS News - 14 percent "a great deal" and 50 percent "somewhat;"
MSNBC - 11 percent "a great deal" and 41 percent "somewhat;"
CNN - 18 percent "a great deal" and 43 percent "somewhat."
Notice what's missing? PBS. When PBS is included, it wins.

I just ran a little social experiment with a bunch of whiny little bitches by saying I wouldn't google it. I got a lot of hostility.
What I didn't get is even one of them trying to google it.
The search

The top result
National Survey Confirms that PBS and Member Stations Are America’s Most Trusted Institution and an “Excellent” Use of Tax Dollars for 12th Consecutive Year[3]
Time elapsed: About 10 seconds. Make of it what you will, whiny little bitches

TNX for gold partner. I don't deserve it. Just a cowboy that got done wrong on so I done back.
i think there's a bit of a statistical bias there...
and by that i mean i'm saying people who listen to rush limbaugh and watch fox believe everything there 100%....
i mean i was home like 20 minutes and my brother already said Ogobongo is banning ammunition sales in the US....he didn't even bother to read past the first sentence of the fox article he quoted, nor even read the ATF document linked
the article also says PBS wins when it's included. In this particular poll it was not.
The people who watch Fox News are the only people stupid enough to trust ANY private television news source "a great deal".
Well, let's face it. Ignorant idiots are always more sure of themselves than smart and educated people - Those tend to leave room for doubt in their minds. No surprise Fox's primary viewership is more convinced they're truthful.
did they poll a denny's parking lot in florida or something
I wonder if people are thinking about Fox local stations when they say they trust Fox news.

Phew. I was about 30 seconds away from :suicide:
My guess is that more liberal people tend to trust the news less in general.
While the Liberal Conservative split is close to 50/50, Liberals do not trust MSNBC the same way Conservatives do Fox.

I trust my Fox local station... My family knows a good bit of people that work in there and broadcast, and they know them to be good people. Plus, what they actually report is rarely biased as they do most their publicity shit through Facebook. The community comments on their articles, disagreeing, they know not to make articles like that.
Well, i call bullshit. From what i understand fox news is getting mocked all the time for being bias and simple minded. Now they're saying it's the most trusted news source there is? Bullshit.

local Fox news aren't run by Fox News

One could only assume, but they carry the same name. Combine that with vague polling questions, and you have inaccurate results for which news station one trusts.

It's got the highest viewership and devotes a significant amount of airtime to constantly reinforcing the idea that they are the only trustworthy source of news and that everyone not under the Fox umbrella is in the thrall of a shadowy, liberal (probably Jewish) cabal manipulating the media to make people give up their guns 'n freedoms or some shit.
What's surprising?

You also hear a lot of hate about Obama, but he still won twice. Loudness generally doesn't mean that anyone who doesn't agree with the loudest are a small minority. Conservatives fiercely defend Fox when someone attacks Fox because they sell the idea that everything is liberal bias except for Fox News. That's how they spin people's outlook on the media who view them.
If I want news that is the tiniest bit believable, I'll just trust Facepunch. What could go wrong?
I don't agree with your politics so you are stupid and must be a racist gun toting Christian. Let's bring the Jews in on this shit posting too. When america and Europe crumble still it will be blamed on fox and the white people. Fortunally no white people will be able to hear it.

tbh its more trustworthy than any cable news network

It's mocked by your forumers and other locations where the hate train is concentrated. Protip: The average American doesn't give a fuck about Fox one way or another, just like all the issues that forums and image boards like to inflate beyond their importance to the population. Sorry to burst the bubble but it's the truth. If even a quarter of the 300 million people in America gave a genuine shit about any one thing you wouldn't have such a divided country. Fox sits around 2 million on average Vs. 300+ million people in the country and is still the #1 rated station in numbers. Consider how little Fox really matters to America with numbers like that, both in hatred or fondness; no one gives a god damn in the grand scheme of things, just like everything else.
So with that said, in an overwhelming flood of liberal news stations why is anyone surprised that Fox has the concentrated poll backing. It fills the conservative hole that, unlike the liberal side, doesn't compete with anyone else on air for the same agenda. If anything the increasingly liberal aligned news has benefited Fox, as they very effectively hold the monopoly on conservative news now.

Which is actually unfortunate because liberals are increasingly getting news from places like reddit and it's making us stupid as fuck. On the plus side, we caught the Boston bomber 8 times last week.

We really need bullshit man to save us from fox news.
Isn't Fox not labelled/registered/christened/whatever as a legitimate news channel? I thought this is why they were labelled as just "Fox" at the State of the Union whereas NBC, CBS, etc had "News" after their names
They are classified as Entertainment and not News if I remember correctly
Hard to believe. Shows how corrupt American news stations are.
