When Britney Spears, pop's biggest star, insists on lip-synching her way across the world, you could be forgiven for thinking all our music icons are cowards who can't sing live. Not the case with Muse, judging by their appearance on Italian TV show "Quelli Che Il Calcio" recently, where they were apparently asked to mime their new single, "Uprising". The band were so outraged by the request that they decided to play a practical joke on producers.
Drummer Dom Howard was sent out to front the group and do "vocals", while singer Matt Bellamy took over stick duties. The comical results can be seen below, alongside the subsequent interview with the show's glamorous host, who makes it clear she has no clue who is actually in Muse, as Howard plays his frontman role to perfection while she blunders through question after question and an interpreter booms the responses in the background. Surely not even Fearne Cotton could make such a monumental blunder?

Ahaha, that's brilliant.
Awesome
Muse are doing it for the funnies.
fucking love Muse
ahaha bellamy's expression is priceless
Haha, that was great.
I read that one time on Top of the Pops (where they always mimed) one of the bands had the drummer sit backwards and drum mid air and the guitarist played the guitar with his teeth and stuff.
Why the hell would you make this great band mime?!
good for dom he deserves this
This is the second time they've done this, they did it once on UK show live and kicking. Dom and Chris swapped over.
It's awesome!
Here's the first time they did it:

I gave you a .
I never get the point of lyp syncing, it's like you pay all that money to listen to an album?
I think we need tighter controls on what is classed as news, this is a funny video, not news. It's important that we take our news seriously.
I rate you clock, I already made a thread about it :(
Or maybe not seeing as you're a Muse fan

Just gonna leave this here

Oh god, I love muse and this just makes them even cooler. I love Matts expressions.
Reminds me of this:

Top of the Pops asked them to lip sync (except for the vocals) which they didn't like so they did what you see in the video. Nothing looks odd at the very start, so wait a few seconds and you'll get it.
That's just fucking awesome. Never turn Muse down to play live.... EVER
I heard their new album kinda sucked. Or at least it was a let down.
that's cool
I had to reread the news story to get the joke.
They switched the roles of the band members around, if someone else doesn't get it.

I saw them in their hometown, I have a flag a t-shirt and a poster. :c00l:
I may also go to see them in London.
I am italian and I approve of this thread.
Meh, our tv shows suck.
Mus r so original nd funeh! ^_^
Haha, they would be the best band ever if there music was better.
Christopher Wolstenholme has swapped from bass to guitar.
You'd think producers would've learned after what happened on Live and Kicking:

Why do they sing like they're kissing the microphone?
