Until then, Google would like you to know that its installers are on time 96% of the time and the average hold time on the phone is just a shade above 30 seconds. If that’s not a shot at Comcast, I don’t know what is. Now please come to the rest of us.
holy shit, that is EXTREMELY good support compared to comcast who will put you on hold for ~many minutes, hours, if not forever~, it's bar none, not comparable. It simply trumps them outright.
I think I've waited longer than thirty seconds before Comcast's menu tree even starts up.
while i am sure the support is all-around better than what i have heard of comcast, i do have to wonder if that is because the install base is much smaller leading to a great support system since it doesn't need to deal with as many customers at once as comcast does
I still don't understand why this isn't in the Bellevue/Seattle area. You'd think we would be one of the first to get it.
Well, the question with Google Fiber is if it becomes larger how will they handle it. Right now they are small so its easier.

Dear Google, PLEASE! Signed, every Canadian
I still don't understand why this isn't in the Bellevue/Seattle area. I just saw google trucks and others laying down fiber in the neighborhood across from me the other day. Unfortunately a lot of the apartment places around here aren't going to update for some time.
Come to the Hartford area pls google
I'd love for Google Fiber to come to Burlington VT. There's a lot of small media companies that would love to swap. Google Fiber will also add another competitor to the market up here and in telecom that's always a good thing for the consumer.
Dear Google, PLEASE! Signed, every Canadian
(and especially Manisnowba because ISP duopoly)
Their starting to make Comcast and Centurylink sweaty Just last week Centurylink has been expanding its gig lines to more of the city and Comcast doubled my speed at no charge. Yay competition

google how about you do something no one else will ever do, and come to AUSTRALIA
I'm not really surprised, Google Fiber isn't that big yet so quick response should be granted. Not excusing the shit service of some big ISPs but it would be nice to know how big they are now, whats their service capacity in comparison to the number of customers etc.

That said we all should remember Google Fiber is only in some VERY FEW KEY LOCATIONS right now and not even close to the size of other internet providers. So far google fiber has been nothing but good news but I would say pay attention.
you reinvest profit from the increases in customers into customer support - really not a hard business model, yet nobody can fuckin' follow it
they don't follow it if they know they can get away with it, why spend money on keeping your customers happy if they'll still be your customers while pissed off and you're also a soulless corporateman
Google customer service is amazing, I experienced it.
Chicago please.
South West England please
I want this in my life I need this in my life [editline]19th September 2015[/editline]
google how about you do something no one else will ever do, and come to AUSTRALIA
Do one better and come to Poland
Do you think non-americans are going to get this in ~10 years?
I still don't understand why this isn't in the Bellevue/Seattle area. You'd think we would be one of the first to get it.
Usually Google Fiber only goes into cities that are willing to bend over backwards catering to them, including waiving pole rights, giving free land, etc. Last I looked at Seattle, they had "Gigabit Squared" or something that ended up failing because the city didn't want to pay for it. [editline]19th September 2015[/editline]
Do you think non-americans are going to get this in ~10 years?
Probably not, you're in Europe (if flagdog is to be believed) so you can probably move to France or something and get gigabit much easier than a place like Italy where internet speed isn't a municipal issue.

I've said this before, municipal fiber is the future. Not google fiber.
Yep, google wants a lot to come to a city. I've said this before, municipal fiber is the future. 36 seconds average, OK, how's the median? That matters more here.
That's because it's a very limited amount of areas that can actually get fiber support? Not as many customers compared to something like Time Warner or Comcast.

It's not like they have the same amount of call center employees.
