This makes me pretty excited.
It's pretty ambitious, you'll have a wing commander side and a privateer side to playing the game, it'll be both single player and multiplayer somewhat episodic mixed with co-op option that will include mods. Though it sounds like you can't simply switch from wing commader side to free-roam, where you enlist for a tour. Also the jump-system discovery seems interesting and possibly broken.
