The FBI officials Trump has targeted are Andrew McCabe, the current deputy FBI director and who was briefly acting FBI director after Comey’s firing; Jim Rybicki, Comey’s chief of staff and senior counselor; and James Baker, formerly the FBI’s general counsel. Those same three officials were first identified as possible corroborating witnesses for Comey in a June 7 article in Vox. Comey confirmed in congressional testimony the following day that he confided in the three men. In the past, presidents have attacked special counsels and prosecutors who have investigated them, calling them partisan and unfair. But no previous president has attacked a long-standing American institution such as the FBI — or specific FBI agents and law enforcement officials. Mueller has asked senior members of the administration questions in recent months indicating that prosecutors might consider Trump’s actions also to be an effort to intimidate government officials — in this case FBI officials — from testifying against him. The New York Times reported late Thursday that Trump also ordered the firing of Mueller last June. Trump reportedly changed his mind after White House counsel Donald McGahn threatened to resign and two of the president’s highest-ranking aides told him that it would have devastating effects on his presidency. Press reports at the time said there were indications that Mueller was already investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, even though he was only recently appointed. Obstruction of justice cases depend largely on whether a prosecutor can demonstrate the intent or motivation of the person he or she charges. It’s not enough to prove that the person under investigation attempted to impede an ongoing criminal investigation — a prosecutor must demonstrate some corrupt purpose in doing so. That Trump may have been motivated to attack specific FBI officials because they were potential witnesses against him could demonstrate potential intent that would bolster an obstruction of justice case. Boy, I sure am glad we have an honorable Congress and Senate that will undoubtedly hold Trump accountable for this flagrant abuse of oower.

Or StupidGate/TrumpGate for short :v:
If you thought the reboots had gone too far...THINK AGAIN!
of course he did
Shit like this doesn't even surprise me at all anymore
Or StupidGate/TrumpGate for short :v:
Pisswatergate?
I know “gate” suffixes are tired but I genuinely hope a few years down the line I can see the wikipedia article for this thing with the first line including “(also known as Stupid Watergate or Stupidgate)...”
This really is Stupid Watergate.
Except this time I'm not sure if the house would actually follow impeachment proceedings, nor would Trump resign and admit fault in anything.
Trumpgate would be sufficient, since Trump is synonymous with stupid anyway.
one probably shouldn't make a case against obstruction of justice by trying to obstruct justice, but then Ty Cobb has been telling El Prez that nothing he does will hurt him and mueller is gonna come out any day and exonerate him.
clearly the actions of a man with nothing to hide :downs:
Watergate Speedrun (ANY%) - DTrump99
Considering the theories surrounding a piss-tape, I think "Floodgate" would also work...
Nixon had the first investigation into watergate shut down. Wright Patman had brought together the full power of the financial investigation committee to investigate the financial aspects of the Watergate story. It didn't go anywhere, and Wright Patman was shutdown and many of the investigative leads they had weren't followed. Nixon was only felled by Watergate because one of the 7 perpetrators of the Watergate break in, wrote to the judge in the case, and explained the situation. So, just so everyone has some context for "Stupid Watergate", they can still get away with this. Nixon almost did. Trump has Fox news on his side. He might get impeached. he might not. The public isn't behind it this time, and they were during the first 2 years of Watergate.

It may also not surprise you to learn that he worked for Reagen (who had an incredibly corrupt staff) and W Bush, serving as their media consultant. It was not just created to mouthpiece for the GOP -- but also particularly and mindfully to enthusiastically support and defend corruption in the highest office in the nation, created by a man who flocks to corruption and loves to foster and protect it.
Good thing probably no one under 35 watches it now
sadly that isn't the case.
sadly that isn't the case.
Why would someone under 35, with a smartphone and computers they know how to use, watch shit on cable (I mean I guess shit from them could be tweeted, but that probably wouldn't get people to watch fox news)
Good thing probably no one under 35 watches it now
Fascism under the guise of conservatism and traditionalism is the new rage with white lads ages 13-25 these days and they flock to Fox News like flies to shit.
Good thing probably no one under 35 watches it now
Fox is the most-watched cable "News" channel in the United States. For nearly half of Republican voters, Fox is the primary, if not only, source of political news they consume. As a propaganda network, they have immense power. Their active misinformation and propaganda campaigns intentionally breed confusion, ignorance, prejudicial beliefs, and reactionary outrage. Fox News is one of the primary reasons why the GOP continues to exist in its current form in the modern era, and why the United States is so far behind the rest of the of the world in terms of social progress.
I hope trump supporting young folks and sterotypical /pol/ people (probably some overlap) realize they've been conned by trump and the gop and move past those views. [editline]28th January 2018[/editline]
.
:disappoint:

Ailes used to decide which primary candidates would get airtime and pretty much cut out the whole moderate wing of the GOP. My guess is that sensible politics doesn't yield as good ratings as outrage and spite.
Good thing probably no one under 35 watches it now
yeah they all watch alex jones instead [editline]28th January 2018[/editline] or sargon of akkad or one of the dozens of other awful skeptics on youtube

Why can't they run something besides another anti-trump piece!"
