Who here is Straight-Edge? - General

I can personally state that I am not. Can someone (if they are) state the reason they are? I am not going to bash your beliefs one of my good friends if straight edge til he dies.

What the hell is straight-edge?

I'm not but my sister is. Her reasoning is that "Oh my God, I can't believe you have to be high on [x] to have fun!". My reasoning is, I can have fun without, but that fun is amplified by drug [x].

I don't see the point of taking drugs or drinking, But I'm certainly not going to look down on someone who will.

Me. I'm a hypochondriac. I can't willingly put something inside my body that doesn't belong or else I react violently to it by getting extremely sick. That paired with the fact that I'm tiny and probably couldn't HANDLE anything weird in my body leads me to believe that straight-edge is the one way to stay healthy. Also, I hate the way beer/weed/cigarette smoke smells. AND I have a lot of relatives in jail because of alcohol/drug related crimes. Not to mention a lot of DEAD relatives from alcohol poisoning or health problems because of it. But almost none of my friends are straight edge, and that's alright. They're good for entertainment.

Live a long and healthy life? Why the fuck would I want to do that?

Well, I don't smoke or do drugs. But I do drink. And fuck. :v: I was like STRAIGHT EDGE FUCK YEA when I was 13, then, I grew up I guess.

I don't do drugs or drink or anything, but I don't want to be called straight-edge. That sounds really dumb.

I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs, but anyone who calls themselves a straightedge is probably a total tool. And I don't look down on others who do it.

Technically I am. I plan on joining the military (lots of running) so I don't want to choke up my respiratory system. Also I'm very cheap so I don't want to spend money on beer or drugs.

I'm a Straight-Edge, and proud of it. The name is a bit silly though, I see myself as a healthy thinker.

I drink a couple beers after dinner occasionally with my family (Being Germans with a brewing history), they aren't too worried about the drinking age. I don't do any sort of drugs though. Edit 2010 posts :cool:
