Apple fanboys in my photo class. Warning: Vomit worthy to some.

Now let me start by saying that I am not a windows fanboy, or an apple fanboy.

I think both systems are good for their purpose. The only hate I am describing is directed towards the two kids who sit in front of me. You will soon realize why I decided to make this thread.

So shut up and don't tell me how you think Macs are better than PCs or how PCs are better than Macs.

Their descriptions. One of them wears a digg sweatshirt everyday, it just says diggnation on the front... Something like that.

The other wears a gray cap.. backwards.. everyday. With a random T shirt on or something.

We sit at a square table, which is just two 2 seater tables pushed together to make one big 4 person table.

I sit to the left of some drug addict kid who is always sleeping and in front of me are the mac fanboys. And when I say fanboy.. I mean it. No wait. Change that to cultist. Because this is what they are.

Lets start with something they said: (badly mingled by my memory, but trust me it was probably worse)

ME: No.. I just don't see the point in buying a mac when I can just build a stronger pc for less and use the money saved to buy... other things. I don't require a mac, I've heard they are good if you work with photoshop.. but according to a new article I read I heard that photoshop CS4 on OS X doesn't use more than 3gigs of ram. So even if i did do photoshop, I would rather just go with a windows 7 64bit system.. which adobe does support. Even on their websites they have these advertisements that say '120% increase speed with 64bit windows blah blah' Yeah a mac just isn't the way I'd want to go, I can see why some would prefer it over the PC. The design is very interesting.

Cultists: Umm wut? leik windose always get virus and spamware and shit... with OS X u don get any of that stuff, and your computer turn on faster, and you play games faster, EL O EL iMovie is offically the best video editing software ever haha lol, isntead that right steven? Huh isnt it? did you know that all animation movies are made on macs? Did ya? oh wait you didnt cuz you are a computer stupid person. Sorry no offence I just guess some people aere smarter at something than others.

ME: No... Actually the huge animation studios use these computers made by a company called silicon graphics or otherwise known as SGI. Pretty much it is a bunch of computers linked together and then one person for example can use all their rendering power at once. So it doesn't take ages to render their animations. Otherwise animation movies would take many years to finish! (I tried to dumb it down a bit so they would understand)

Might be exaggerated a bit.. but this is what I have to listen to everyday in my photography class.

Two mac fan boys sit in front of me in a square table.. all they talk about is digg and how the new ipod has one extra curve instead of the previous straight line in a said location, So then they move on to describing their plans on how they are going to get their new ipods because of the little changes that make them perfect and how it is "just the apple way" and how it fits into the "apple lifestyle"

I calmly try to explain to them that if you have a basic knowledge of computers and common sense you can avoid viruses on PC VERY VERY easily and effectively. Then they tell me their made up stories of how their previous computers had viruses and windows told them in a pop up that they needed to download something called "windows cleaner suite" which was according to them "approved by Microsoft engineers" .... what? Yeah same thing I thought. So they paid like 80 bucks for fake software to remove a virus that was probably made by the software demanding $ in the first place... their computer works fine and then they get another virus so they fall for the trick and buy ANOTHER software that removes that said virus.. My head was starting to hurt after this because I couldn't believe how some people could spend so much money like idiots.

Then they start an argument about how their new tv is 1080p and so is the iMac because "apple just does it the way it should be done" and more nonsense like that. Even though I've been using a "1080p" monitor since Pentium 4.

Anyways, I'm sure there are PC counterparts to these guys (I've never met any... yet.) .... I just want to see what would happen if they meet... That would be youtube worthy.

OH ONE MORE THING: The last argument I had with the one in the grey hat was about the processors that apple used.

He says that apple gets special processors from Intel that "work better" and are "faster" than the ones used in pcs.. HPs... Dell... The ones you buy at newegg. He was arguing that since the apple computers are "built better" inside they also "work better". Which I denounced as total bullshit, because Intel doesn't make better CPUs just for apple. They use Core 2 Duos.. Which every computer now a days has. After that I just gave up and responded to everything they said with "Yes you are right" and "all hail apple". At least this way I don't have to argue with them and appear to be a fan boy as well.

What is the saying?? "Don't argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and beat you."

Once again I am not an apple or microsoft fanboy. I happen to use a pc... mostly for games. I wouldn't mind having a mac book.. but they just cost too much $. Don't start flame wars. (you know who you are. Steve and michael, mikhail, what ever your fucking name is I don't know.)

But seriously, they sound pretty stupid, especially with the part about the "special" processors made for Apple.

well... Apple DOES make its own hardware... so any compatibility errors are rare. So you could say that the two fanboys are right in that they get "special" Intel processors. As to if they work better, I doubt it.

OK so apparently Apple doesn't make their own hardware according to 118 people. I have been so disillusioned.... I must... commit... seppuku...
