The best-selling author is considering making the fantasy books available electronically, her London-based agent said on Monday - meaning that Potter fans may soon be able to download the popular series about a boy wizard to their Kindle or iPad. 'We are currently actively looking at all the various options for Harry Potter in this space, that is e-books,' Neil Blair, of the Christopher Little Literary Agency, said in an e-mail. Rowling has sold about 450 million copies of the Harry Potter books worldwide, according to Blair. She has allowed digital audio downloads, but is one of the most famous authors who have stayed away from the e-book market, frustrating parts of her fan-base that have converted to the new format. Some say the Potter books - which are up to 800 pages thick - are heavy and unwieldy, and publishing them in the electronic format will make them easier to carry around. Some reports say Rowling is holding out because she is concerned about piracy issues. Harry Potter books are now available for download digitally from illegal websites. Mr Blair said Rowling has never spoken out against e-books - instead she been watching the developing market and waiting for the right moment to release her books in that format.
I hate reading books virtually.
err no you are still physically reading. do you mean to say "I hate reading virtual books."?
err no you are still physically reading. do you mean to say "I hate reading virtual books."?
no he uploads the book to his brain and then reads it
I wish she would write some more books in the same universe
Harry Potter and the /b/tards.
She looks like a drunk slag.
Wait, these aren't already available digitally? Why?
I hate reading books virtually.
Probably helps if you have a tablet of some sort.
I hate reading books virtually.
I fucking love that. Virtual books don't take up much space and are easy to handle. I love to take a kindle and read them. I don't read paper books, but I fucking love reading digital books.
err no you are still physically reading. do you mean to say "I hate reading virtual books."?
Yes ofcourse, wasn't sure how to put it.

surprised they haven't already done this yay for more e-books
She looks like a drunk slag.
Paris Hilton mixed with Sarah Jessica Parker.
Some say the Potter books - which are up to 800 pages thick - are heavy and unwieldy, and publishing them in the electronic format will make them easier to carry around.
If you can't even carry a fucking book around you read too much. Like honestly the hardcover version of Order of the Phoenix is like what 4 pounds?
I don't understand the charm of ebooks, I love my collection of fantasy books. The idea that when I'm very old I would have an entire room filled with books instead of just one piece of hardware that contains all of them is in my opinion a lot prettier and satisfying to look at.

Plus a lot of the fun of rereading this series is going through the same books I did when I was a kid. It's not the same on an e-reader. For some books, kindles and such are great. But I don't feel like this is one of them.
I like to read books and build up a collection, that way after doing this for ages you will find many books in my room (Mostly about war, military strategy, military campaigns of Frederick the Great, Napoleon, etc) and from this I can later build a fort out of books in case somebody invades my room.
I'm surprised she didn't do this already.
Why do people hate ebooks so much? Real books only waste energy and space. You need at least one 60 watt light bulb on just to see what you're reading, and then you need a huge bookshelf (or several) to keep them all. A kindle could hold several bookshelves worth of books. I love reading. I was in enrichment language arts in middle school, and I was in Honors English my freshman year of high school, and now I'm in AP Language & Composition (harder than college English) my Junior year. So my literacy is above average in relation to my peers. I hate books, the only because they take so much damn space. My closet, drawer, and desk are overflowing with books. If I had a Kindle or an iPad my room wouldn't be the nightmarish flammable hell hole it is right now. I hear people in my classes crying about how Borders and other bookstores are going out of business, my face curls with an evil grin and this is how I feel inside: eBooks are the future.

Wow, why is she just considering it, I thought that she would have done it almost right away. It's not like she would lose much money if they didn't sell at all, but they will.

The hell is she only "looking into it" for? E-books are here to stay and not publishing on the reader platform is retarded.
