lol, good luck
All that trash has to go somewhere; if Google cleaned up 4chan they would just gather somewhere else.
All that trash has to go somewhere; if Google cleaned up 4chan they would just gather somewhere else.
Yes, it's called SA.
I sure hope not. Best thing about 4chan is how untamed it is.
Isn't the owner of 4chan constantly on the verge of bankruptcy because of how little cash the site makes, or was that a rumor?
Nah it's pretty well-endowed right now, there was some financial issues a while back because they were having trouble finding advertisers.
Sounds like something you would hear in an April fools joke
I hope they do, and shut it down.
Yes, Lets associate Google with everything that is involved with 4chan.
Isn't the owner of 4chan constantly on the verge of bankruptcy because of how little cash the site makes, or was that a rumor?
if this is true, he should just ask for donations parodying wikipedia
I hope they do, and shut it down. That place is filled with scum, and many pedophiles.
still not as bad as reddit
Yes, it's called SA.
SA created that vile place, and exiled it for good reason.
I hope they do, and shut it down. That place is filled with scum, and many pedophiles.
Statements like these are how you can tell that someone hasn't visited 4chan.
Statements like these are how you can tell that someone hasn't visited 4chan.
Or just /b/.
I can see it now. Every time 4chan brings down an Apple related website everyone that participated gets $5 from a mysterious sponsor. Suddenly Apple websites are down 24/7, tech support is impossible, sales cannot be made. Apple stock plummets and the company goes bankrupt. Google, you marvellously evil genius you.
if this is true, he should just ask for donations parodying wikipedia
moot has stated that he simply dislikes taking donations and won't be implementing such a system again anytime soon. I can't exactly remember the reason why he doesn't want to take donations, but my guess is that he doesn't want its users to feel worried that he's holding the website hostage for a ransom, or that he doesn't want to feel too indebted to people donating ridiculous sums, or he doesn't want to make people believe that he's running the site for a profit. Contrary to popular belief, he's actually a pretty swell guy. [editline]18th May 2012[/editline] It's a bit like having santa claus be the ruler of hell
It's made up. The person who wrote the article (or more like 2 sentences) pulled it out of their ass [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] He did it just to get views so he can spam his stupid stockcall shit and try to get advertising
Oh boy can't wait for social media sites to be integrated into 4chan. Imagine a world where instead of posting anonymously you're required to use a Google+ account to post
Yes, it's called SA.
Looks like someone payed money and got banned.
still not as bad as reddit
I hate all you guys who just hate on other forums because either you don't understand how they work or its just plain xenophobia. In Reddit, its not like here or SA where the moderators create new forums. The community creates their own subreddits, and when pedos got on there they created pedo subreddits. Those got shut down, and there are hundreds of other subreddits and dozens of good ones. Hell, even the post above yours said to not just judge a site based on one section. How would you react if all of FP you knew about was the OIFY?
still not as bad as reddit
What makes you say that?
Because there was a half dozen or so subreddits that had people that shared CP, and those all got shut down so now everybody here hates reddit because of the two worst sections of reddit: the now long gone pedos (that are still infesting 4chan's /b/) and the shitty comedy/pictures one.

Yep, faked. http://www.buzzfeed.com/jwherrman/is-google-buying-4chan
For kicks, I asked 4chan founder Chris Poole what he had to say: "SEEMS LEGIT"

I hope they do, and shut it down. That place is filled with scum, and many pedophiles.
dont be a fool 4chan is filled to the brim with fags, FP won't tell you that because 90% of FPers are from 4chan [editline]17th May 2012[/editline]
How would you react if all of FP you knew about was the OIFY?
FP is pretty bad hurr durrre
I hope they do, and shut it down. That place is filled with scum, and many pedophiles.
I hope they shut down Facepunch. It's filled with so many virgin 16 year olds and fat nerds.
almost everyone here judges 4chan because of /b/ the other boards are all fine
Statements like these are how you can tell that someone hasn't visited 4chan.
Most of the web traffic and most popular section of 4chan is /b/. if you say 4chan isn't shit because of some remote cherry picked part of the site, then you're just fooling yourself.
Most of the web traffic and most popular section of 4chan is /b/. if you say 4chan isn't shit because of some remote cherry picked part of the site, then you're just fooling yourself.
You do know that there's about 30 other sections right? Hell, the tabletop games section they have is fucking amazing.
I find reddit and 4chan to be horribly uncomfortable to maneuver around on. They just seem un-intuitive.
