Hawaii has found its own superhero. Except that instead of protecting the powerless from harm, he roams the streets with a sledgehammer and looks for homeless people in order to literally smash their possessions. Remarkably, this vigilante isn’t just some random Hawaiian, but five-term State Rep. Tom Brower (D). Noting that he’s “disgusted” with homeless people, Brower told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser about his own personal brand of “justice”: “If I see shopping carts that I can’t identify, I will destroy them so they can’t be pushed on the streets.” Brower has waged this campaign for two weeks, estimating that he’s smashed about 30 shopping carts in the process. “I want to do something practical that will really clean up the streets,” he explained to Hawaii News Now as he showed off his property destruction skills...
Full story here
[editline]19th November 2013[/editline] Can a mod change the title to "State Rep. Smashes Homeless Peoples' Stuff With a Sledgehammer"? It wont let me edit it.
What an asshole, someone should march through his house swinging a bat
He's not the hero Hawaii needs, nor he is the hero Hawaii deserves.
I don't mean to be threatening, I just want to carry this sledgehammer around breaking in the wheels of carts for no apparent reason.
What a douche bag.
How is this even helping the homeless problem? By them not having carts to carry their only possessions tying them to this world, that will somehow magically give them a house and a job and keep them off the street?
I hope he swings and hits his kneecap by mistake.
So, here's a question: Would it be perfectly legal to shoot him and claim you were defending your home and property?
Alsoo how does this not fuckin fall under vandalism?
He doesn't care so long the problem is not visible for him.
He's a politician allright.
probably delusional
So, here's a question: Would it be perfectly legal to shoot him and claim you were defending your home and property?
Negative. Prevention of property destruction isn't justification for lethal force in Hawaii. EDIT: Note that a man coming at you with a sledgehammer raised would be sufficient justification in theory.
So, here's a question: Would it be perfectly legal to shoot him and claim you were defending your home and property?
Considering that these carts he's smashing "belong" to homeless people, I'd say no. Especially because technically these shopping carts usually aren't theirs (I think), plus no home. Plus it's a state rep. vs a homeless person. Police will probably not side with homeless, nor a judge. And apparently as Gunfox just said, even if it was your property it's still not ok.
If some guy came around smashing up my shopping cart, I'd smash him with the cart.
Alsoo how does this not fuckin fall under vandalism?
Probably because they don't own the shopping carts?
Probably because they don't own the shopping carts?
and the man with the sledgehammer does?
The merchants should force him to pay the price of the carts, homeless people steal them yeah but they don't destroy them...
Alsoo how does this not fuckin fall under vandalism?
Because he's a politician
“I want to do something practical that will really clean up the streets,”
Create jobs and social programs?
wtf this isn't an onion article?? i can't even tell anymore
Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you theoretically blame the homeless problem on him, since he's responsible for representing his state? I mean it's weak, I know, but that should be enough reason to justify destroying his house and possessions under his logic, right?
What an ass, if he really wanted to do something about homelessness, hed work on creating jobs and improving social programs. But no hed rather just smash shit up to appeal twords a retarded minority who think homeless people are scum.
So, here's a question: Would it be perfectly legal to shoot him and claim you were defending your home and property?
If you stole the shopping cart how is it your property? these fucking youtube comments though LOL
NBGrow VI 20 minutes ago If I saw this dude doing this, I'd curb stomp his fucking face

blastardinc 4 hours ago he comes where I'm at he might come up missing in action.

Shawn M 6 hours ago I hope he does this to the wrong person and they kick his ass.

F Maack 5 hours ago What a sick fucking human being. I think he might be a sociopath. He should join the tea baggers and make it official that he is a human piece of shit.

thatstheguy07 5 hours ago This pussy needs his fucking ass kicked.

Who'd like to see this fuckweasel try this shite on a tweaked-out, wiry, homeless war veteran?

Frank Maier 5 hours ago I'd like to shove that sledge up his ass.
Good maybe this will inspire those lazy good for nothings to go and get jobs when they don't have their carts to carry them through life thank you Mr Brower!
I don't mean to be threatening, I just want to carry this sledgehammer around breaking in the wheels of carts for no apparent reason.
Burn the homeless for fuel problem solved Jund 2016
The supermarkets should sue him for destruction of private property.
Burn the homeless for fuel problem solved Jund 2016
Can't we burn useless politicians instead?
