A 57-year-old woman is under observation in Cairns Hospital in far north Queensland over fears she may have the deadly Ebola virus. Cairns local Sue-Ellen Kovack recently returned from Sierra Leone where she was working with the Red Cross helping to treat patients of the outbreak. Queensland's chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said Ms Kovack wore protective equipment at all times while in the country, and they were not breached at any stage. Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young will conduct a press conference at 3pm (1600 AEDT) "to discuss an infectious disease case currently being assessed." jesus this shit spreads fast.
Literally all but about 4 cases outside West Africa of these have been legitimate. The media is doing an absolutely fantastic job at fear mongering to the absolute fullest possible regarding Ebola.
Shit shit shit, please don't let this be true.

Also: we're all fucked, cunts.
Shouldn't international flights from Liberia and Sierra-Leone start being blocked soon? Due to the rapidly decline of the situation in those corresponding contries? The infection there is rampant.
Also: we're all fucked, cunts.
Not Tasmania though [sp]not yet[/sp]
oh for fuck sakes
It's very unlikely it's going to be a mass outbreak so stop bitching It's just going to suck for those very few who have it, it's really sad
Good thing I socially interact with people very rarely [sp]*sobs*[/sp]
Queensland's chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said Ms Kovack wore protective equipment at all times while in the country, and they were not breached at any stage.
If find this interesting. It seems rather hard to contract Ebola so I wonder how she did, even when she had the protective equipment. Just seems like shit luck to me if she does have it.
[t]http://www.caribdirect.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Ebola-quiz.jpg[/t]
this is misinformation as well you know. haha epic witty infographic i get it but you do realise this isn't ancient greece and bodily fluids exist even when they aren't visible to the human eye [editline]9th October 2014[/editline] QUIZ: DO YOU HAVE EBOLA? 1. Have you been in a piss dungeon, actively drinking the piss of someone with ebola? | no | it's ok you are fine pal
It's in north QLD so honestly if that goes than who cares, South-East represent
Is there ever any quarantine procedure these aid workers have to go through?
Not Tasmania though
Because Tasmania isn't real.
Literally all but about 4 cases outside West Africa of these have been legitimate.
[t]http://www.caribdirect.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Ebola-quiz.jpg[/t]
Why are you so sure that it is not airborne? In 2012 study showed that Ebola was able to travel between pigs and monkeys that were in separate cages and were never placed in direct contact. its changingggggggggggggg
Why are you so sure that it is not airborne? http://www.nature.com/srep/2012/121115/srep00811/full/srep00811.html
And there was another study as far back as 1989 where a similar thing occured to lab monkeys who never came in contact. Point being, there are very few studies that are very far apart that say Ebola is airborne, which kinda makes it not very likely - for now anyway. And even then, even if it was airborne, that doesn't change the fact that the amount of deaths from Ebola is extremely low and still not worth worrying about. It's good that a vaccine is being made, it stamps out the disease anyway. But like I said, the common cold and heart disease kills more people than Ebola, but hardly anybody is doing anything about that.
Not Tasmania though [sp]not yet[/sp]
Tasmaina is not a state of Australia
honestly i'd rather fear mongering which leads to people reporting possible sickness/dealing with their illnesses/sanitizing hands and such than 0 coverage and legitimate serious outbreaks
Fearmongering leads to more problems. There isn't a risk for a serious outbreak. Believe it or not, but you can raise awareness of a disease without causing panic. This is something the media does not understand.
