Hello people, this is my very first song composed in Reason 4
I haven't watched any tutorials on how to use Reason 4 at all, I was just experimenting with samples and functions, and this is what came out.
I think this song came out pretty good, considering it is my first time ever using Reason 4
The tempo is slowed down because I had to compress and change the sample rate of the song due to large filesize.
I don't know why it's offbeat at some points. I guess that has something to do with the compression and changing of sample rate.

C&C, please? :)
Nothing special, but it's pretty good. I like the part with the squeaky notes.
Off beat? The whole thing sounded like it stayed in time.
Sounds pretty good but it could use some kind of melody, I felt it was a bit empty.
Yeah, What Wasawiki said Bassically...
Aight. Thanks for the comments, guys.
Nice drum beat, assuming you made it yourself. Just lacking substance.
Amazing drums. Lacks melody, but get that down and you'll be set. Have you tried anything other than Reason? If not, FL is a good starting point.
Actually, I give you credit for even being able to make this in Reason at all... I tried to use it once, and I felt like a 5 year old staring at a Boeing cockpit interface. I usually stick with Fruity Loops, it's so much easier!

Yes, i've used Fl Studio for two months, but I didn't like it that much.
Yeah, I really think it could use a melody. Whatever can work out for the melody phrase, just use it over and over while changing it up to keep it interesting. Also, make sure your points of emphasis are better placed, because they seemed to be awkward at times.
To come up with a melody either sing it out or improvise. Whatever you improb over it doesn't really matter, you just want to find phrases that sound good, note them in your head or write them down and then actually use them in the song. Also keep the key in mind (this song seemed to be in E minor, but it may have not been).
This is me improvising to it, would have given you the first take but I forgot to my recording onto Stereo Mix. It'll start out rough, but once you figure it out what works with it.

I hope you have a midi keyboard, but if not you can just use your computer keyboard.

Dear god you were flat and offbeat.

I was trying to show the concept of just improvising over a track to try to find a melody. It really doesn't matter if I'm playing out of key or off beat, what I was trying to show is that you just want to mess around and try to come up with some ideas.
Listening again I did get the key and scale completely wrong. Need to stop doing this crap when I'm dead tired.

I'm pretty sure you can't use a computer keyboard in Reason 4
Also, I know how to make a melody. I was just experimenting. And damn, that was horrible, man.
But thank you alot for trying to help me
