CIA employed “medieval” torture that brought prisoners “to the point of death
The CIA engaged in brutal torture that brought prisoners to the brink of death, according to a report published over the weekend in the British newspaper, the Telegraph. The methods used far exceed what has been previously acknowledged by the CIA and the Bush and Obama administrations.
“They weren’t just pouring water over their heads or over a cloth,” said an unnamed source who had “first-hand knowledge of the period,” according to the Telegraph. “They were holding them under water until the point of death, with a doctor present to make sure they did not go too far. This was real torture.”
“They got medieval on his ass, and far more so than people realize,” he added, referring to one of the individuals tortured.
I can't help but laugh at the proper grammar here.
"Hard, pipe-hitting niggers"

Looking forward to the next "revelation" where CIA apparently also tortured people severely under Obama, and the subsequent exoneration of those officers by the time a new president takes office.

Does that mean they smoke pipes or something?
Does that mean they smoke pipes or something?
it means they're crackheads
Well if they didn't hate America when they came into prison, they sure as hell do now.
I wish someone would leak the name of the doctor. Isn't he sworn to protect people? Instead he's sitting in there and watching.

If you take the hippocratic oath literally, he's not breaking it. It is not he who is doing harm, but rather his CIA associates. In fact, he's the one making sure the target remains alive throughout the process of torture.

Do you really think he gives a shit about the oath?
Do you really think he gives a shit about the oath?
Never claimed to think anything of the sorts. Just clarifying how he as a doctor might justify his actions as not being in direct conflict with his oath.
nothing says liberty and justice for all like whisking away suspected terrorists from across the world without permission of their native nations and imprisoning them indefinitely without trial in places with no names and unmarked on maps so we can torture them nearly to death in brutal and sadistic ways. And to do this, we need only a rough approximation of who may be a terrorist, the cooperation of regimes without morals, and an agency composed of people whose purpose it is on this earth is to overthrow governments and assassinate people, sometimes citizens of their very own country.
you're a big guy
For you.
I agree, it is torture. I also agree, it never should have happened, this is not the beacon of morality the US should be. But honestly, the two mentioned in the article completely deserved it. These were people who would do the same to us in a second. They orchestrated the deaths of thousands.
Central Interrogation Agency.
Interrogation isn't at all synonymous with torture. Torture is, alledgedly, performed when interrogators can't get the information they desire. It is claimed that torturing is a last resort.
How can a doctor make sure you don't keep someone's head under the water for too long?
Someone could last 5 minutes, while someone else would be dead by the end of the first minute.

waiting for that lmao
what's your plan?!
Torture doesn't work. The fuckers who believe whole hog in this shit think you torturing them makes their personal heaven better when they die. You need to come up with a way where you can see the thoughts in their heads while discussing topics to seed the memory to drag up details.

No one deserves torture.

The point is to get information out of someone or scare others. Torture solves both pretty good. No matter what you believe in - under torture anyone breaks and tells everything.

Gospadin Muffinzerg, people can also tell you what you want to believe to escape further torture in some cases, especially if they know nothing.
Well if they didn't hate America when they came into prison, they sure as hell do now.
That's perhaps our worst dilemma regarding some of our prisoners. They were harmless before, but we fucked up, if we release them now they'll try to kill us. So we keep them locked up because our mistakes turned them into extremists when they weren't before.
Dark shit. I fear for the innocents who undoubtedly get tortured.

Getting caught, of course!
