nothing says liberty and justice for all like whisking away suspected terrorists from across the world without permission of their native nations and imprisoning them indefinitely without trial in places with no names and unmarked on maps so we can torture them nearly to death in brutal and sadistic ways. And to do this, we need only a rough approximation of who may be a terrorist, the cooperation of regimes without morals, and an agency composed of people whose purpose it is on this earth is to overthrow governments and assassinate people, sometimes citizens of their very own country.

How can a doctor make sure you don't keep someone's head under the water for too long? Someone could last 5 minutes, while someone else would be dead by the end of the first minute.

They were harmless before, but we fucked up, if we release them now they'll try to kill us. So we keep them locked up because our mistakes turned them into extremists when they weren't before.
