Game's looking pretty slick. MK is probably my favorite multiplayer game, so I'm hype for this. Trailer: Some Off-Screen, Direct Audio collage of all 16 tracks played at the press event: Some more in-depth look, but it's a preview of what they'll be posting on their channel later: Having played this at an event myself, I cannot even stress how great this game looks in-person in 60fps without YouTube's garbage compression. Easily the best-looking Wii U game.
Ahh This is what the Wii U needs right now Can't wait to spend 10 minutes dusting it off. Although Rayman Legends got some of that off early :)
Looks like they made Rainbow Road more down to earth this time.
Looks like they made Rainbow Road more down to earth this time.
that's rainbow road from mario kart 64
that's rainbow road from mario kart 64
His point still stands. The original was just floating in space, but this one's over a city.
I really like that, for the past few games, they haven't been taking out any of the new features, like Bikes, Gliders etc.
I'm really impressed at the visuals. I still think it's funny how a decent portion of the WiiU's "killer apps" run at 1080p/60fps and look gorgeous.
I want the Shyguy.
They removed stacking items, meaning you can no longer have 3 shells and then grab another item to stack with the item you are dragging. You have to use that item in order to pick up another item.
Holyshit, those retro tracks!
Wow those cars and bikes look fucking amazing, that style, that shine. I hope the next big 3D Mario game looks this good
wow this looks amazing. It can't come out fast enough
ohhh myyy godd those visuals. This is a day one buy now, it's settled

They may not have the best specs but Nintendo know exactly how to squeeze every last drop of power out of them from day one.
Can anyone confirm how cool/not cool customizing karts was in 7? Cause I'm kinda skeptical of the who "kart customization" idea.

Shy guy shy guy shy guy You know what would make this perfect? If you could unlock an item switch like Smash Bros. Choose to have no blue shells, no lightning, green shells only, blue shells only, etc.

There was an article earlier today; you can have no items, only bananas, the works. I dunno if it'll be super customizable, but it probably will.
This is what the Wii U needs right now
yeah an eighth mario kart definitely what it needs lol
yeah an eighth mario kart definitely what it needs lol
Mario Kart Wii was the best selling game on the Wii save Wii Sports. MK is exactly what the Wii U needs.

Wind Waker HD 1080p/30 MarioKart 8 1080p/60 in singleplayer, 1080p/30 in split-screen multiplayer Bayonetta2 720/60 ZombiU 720p/30 Wonderful 101 720p/30 Pikmin 3 720/30 Super Mario 3D World 720p/60 Black Ops 2: 640p/60 with drops
BO2 and Ghosts are the same resolution as the Xbox 360 version, 880x720
yeah an eighth mario kart definitely what it needs lol
you said you liked tropico... isn't there fucking 5 of them?
you said you liked tropico... isn't there fucking 5 of them?
It's different because it's not Nintendo Is what people say. And I say they're wrong. If it's good, don't you want more?
Oh hey, I remember that floating wheel mechanic. From the last fucking Crash Team Racing game.
that's because they design their consoles for what they want to work with, which is partially why they have very little 3rd party support
The other problem is the gamepad's screen though. Sure some games use it, and use it well. But look at DK Tropical Freeze, where it's off when playing on the bigger screen. And MK8 doesn't seem like will use the screen in a special way either. I'm not sure if it will also be off, or it will mirror or does what DS/3DS MK did, but it doesn't seem to be anything special. I can't see SSBU having anything going on without it being unfair. Also because of the limited power (even if efficiently used) 4 player in MK8 looks iffy. They could lower the resolution to 720p etc to push 4 players, but still, more powerful machine could have really helped there.
There is a mode like this! The only feature that I like about the Gamepad is the off-screen play. But using it to manage inventories in ZombiU and Windwaker is pretty neat/handy. IMO, they should have launched the Wii U with the Pro Controller and NSMBU for $250 with a 32GB Basic and then have a Deluxe version for $350 with the Gamepad, Nintendoland as a download, and 64GB storage.. The Gamepad alone is $140, iirc, so the console itself was really only worth $160.
