As of May 20, 2014, certain online functionality offered through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will no longer be accessible. The discontinued services include online play, matchmaking and leaderboards for many Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games. For a comprehensive list of games and services that are affected, please check http://support.nintendo.com/servicesupdate. Users can still play the games in offline mode, which continues to offer a rich game-play experience. RIP, I had fun with this back in the day.
wasnt it because gamespy hosted its servers for them
DS online sucked anyway, no body wants to use WEP on their router just so they can play games.
DS online sucked anyway, no body wants to use WEP on their router just so they can play games.
Not just that but the peer connection sucked ass. Everyone would be jittering all over the place, and there was no good system to play with friends.
We shall Brawl to the very last night...
Rest in piece metroid prime hunters online.
RIP MarioKart DS and all you snaking bastards.
DS online sucked anyway, no body wants to use WEP on their router just so they can play games.
You bastard I spent hours configuring my router just so I could get my DS online Note that this was eons ago I didn't really know how routers worked so there was a lot of fiddling around and the router randomly doing weird shit
RIP Zelda DS multiplayer, you were fun for the few times I played it.
Rest in piece metroid prime hunters online.
RIP hackers

Aww man I remember having some really fun times playing Brawl and AC:CF with friends, and even making friends in AC:CF. It was really fun and it's a shame to see it go but, everything ends at some point.
Well looks like it's time for method 2 to get Pokemon into x&y without the GTS, hate the fact I have to buy a damn dongle just to PokeGen my Pokemon....
Sad to see it go..

I'm going to miss being bombed by a million blue shells at once on Mario Kart
RIP creating Pokemon teams to transfer to X & Y
You can still do it, just put the PokeGen Pokemon on your save file using a R4i save dongle, then use poke transfer to send it to x&y
Bought one of those usb dongles just to play Tony Hawk versus a friend who lived 10 minutes away. The good old days...
You can still do it, just put the PokeGen Pokemon on your save file using a R4i save dongle, then use poke transfer to send it to x&y
I don't have an R4
I imagine the cheater to legitimate player ratio on those systems is about the same as sex bots to real people on the AOL chat rooms when those shut down years ago.
Kinda depressing really..alot of games are still active online. Especially Mario Kart.
Kinda depressing really..alot of games are still active online. Especially Mario Kart.
Yeah, you cannot say that it hasn't been popular during the six years after release. That said, besides the lag issues and having to raise both shoulders towards the hackers in a "meh" response, I had pretty good fun. (Nintendo Wii RIP - bought in 2010 - Lasting today in 2014)
DS online sucked anyway, no body wants to use WEP on their router just so they can play games.
Using a 3DS you can play DS games online with the standard security on your router
Welp, there goes the Wild World players that haven't moved to New Leaf yet
You can still do it, just put the PokeGen Pokemon on your save file using a R4i save dongle, then use poke transfer to send it to x&y
You can still do it with an Action Replay as well last time I checked.
RIP MarioKart DS and all you snaking bastards.
Nothing like joining a game with 2 people using modified games, fucking giving everyone unlimited blue shells and supersonic speed
