Forget about upgrading to first class. Virgin is offering frequent fliers the chance to upgrade to a flight into space.
The passenger who earns the most frequent flyer points from booking flights on Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America and Virgin Australia from now through August 7, 2013, will win a free trip on the Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo shuttle.
The starting price for a trip into space on one of Virgin’s shuttles is $200,000.
As part of the contest, Virgin will give the second most frequent flyer a free zero-gravity flight. Customers can use their frequent flyer points for other flights during this time without counting against their chances for scoring the free trip into space.
Aside from the trip, the lucky passenger will get bragging rights and perhaps even a chance to hobnob with some of the rich and powerful people who are actually able to afford the hefty price tag for the flight.
Now THAT is service.
Virgin Airlines is going to make a LOT of money.
Well I'm off to get the most frequent flyer points.
No but that's amazing and would love to win but sadly I rarely go flying.

Good luck with that.
This is so awesome, I love virgin

welp doesn't look like anyone is going to space soon.
It would be terrible if there was an accident and someone flying loads to try and win was killed or badly hurt in a crash.
welp doesn't look like any of us are going to space soon.
There's people with $200k to blow
If I had an obscene amount of money I would go into space.
Stupid thing about this is the only people who can afford that amount of flying could also probably already afford to pay for a trip into space. Once again, money goes to money.

It'll be a business paid flyer.
My money is on that.

This doesn't really make any sense, there odds per flight are no worse than anyone else.
it's simple, guys
all you have to do is make a bunch of hats that get accepted into tf2
you'll get lods of emone, more than enough to fly to space

It's fucking SPACE.
For 200k.
Do you realize how insanely cheap that is?
If I had an obscene amount of money I would go into space.
If I had a obscene amount of money I'd start a private space company.
All of this space talk at once is either a media sensation or a hint of something fucking cool soon. Who knows? Maybe enough corporations will get interested in space and there'll be a Space Race to mars.
This is so awesome, I love virgin
I love virgins too.
maybe 200k now maybe 10 years from now a normal flight price well not as cheap but still
but i am in space
How did he amass the money for that kind of investment?
it's not an investment, and who knows. could have been born into a rich family, or made some stupid bullshit that sold like hotcakes.
There's people with $200k to blow
