Burger King is ruling a larger fast-food kingdom.
The U.S.-based restaurant chain made it official Tuesday announcing that it agreed to merge with the Canada-based Tim Hortons restaurant chain. The deal, worth about $11 billion, will create the world's third largest quick service restaurant company with about $23 billion in sales and more than 18,000 restaurants in 100 countries.
The new global company will be headquartered in Canada, but each brand will be managed independently, with Burger King retaining its U.S. offices in Miami, the two companies said in a joint statement.
For a second I thought it said $118 :v:
i actually agree with my state's senator for once, don't buy burger king, buy american wendy's and (if you can find one) white castle

Wendy's is a tad more expansive than other places but it's food is god tier
Actually I like certain food from each fast food place
If I could get:
McDonald's Chicken Nuggets
Wendy's Fries
Burgerking Whopper
(just my personal preferences)
all in one meal, I'd die happy (and with high blood pressure!)
But anyways, this probably won't change much for either restaurant
Does this mean that I can get good coffee at Burger King now?

Why?
I like BK's Coffee :(
So when will I be able to get my Whopper breakfast sandwich at Tims?

"Yeah I'll have a whopper with cheese, 8 chocolate timbits, and a large double double"
I doubt anything will really change with either franchise.
In Aus BK is named Hungry Jacks, and the thing I like best about them is $1 frozen cokes, $2 milkshakes, and you can get a 3 patty burger for $4, along side a heap of other cheap deals and meals. HJs are the best in the Summer. I wonder if this merger will affect them in any way.

White Castle blows. Their burgers give me the shits.
According to the article, both franchise will still be managed independently.

No, most of the Canadians posting about it on FP are right; This will mean the end of the Canadian culinary world for vague unspecified reasons, like they are all saying. Just you watch!
I am Canadian :v:

But seriously we already have a shitload of Burger Kings here. The most this could mean is that you might get joint Burger King Tim Hortons restaurants, which would be kind of cool.
Sorry Canada.

Is your name Joe?
Do you drink Molson?
Do you know Jimmy, Sally, and Susie from Canada? [sp]I'm sure they're really nice.[/sp]
If I could get a Timmy's donut in a BK meal combo instead of fries, I'm totally down with this merger.

In Winnipeg, Wendy's/Tim Horton's restaurants are already a thing (and have been for a while):

I wonder how that place will turn out within a little while after things are all settled.

Well, that started because some dude in PEI owned a bunch of Tims and Wendy's, and then he was like, why not merge them?
I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing BK/Tim hybrids.
How is Tim Hortons?
All my canadian friends on skype talk about it like it's the best place ever
I really wanna try it, but I doubt it's going to be in the US ever. :(

I'll trade you a Timmies for a Waffle House.

it's now mandatory to wear this mask + crown combo when walking into tim hortons in canada or you can't buy timbits

It's our "official" (but not Official) coffee-and-donuts chain, and culturally it sort of holds a position that's similar to Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts in terms of being the default if you think "let's go get some coffee and a donut".
And in the Canadian Winter, better to be sitting inside a warm, clean, bright Tim Hortons with a donut and a coffee to warm you inside (and follow you out the door to keep you warm after leaving) than outside if you don't need to be. It's sort of like Starbucks users and proximity to wifi. :v:
Timd has wifi now too.
fuck burger king when you have your own grill, which i just finished cooking some delicous sausages when i saw this thread :v:
