Pictures were published in the Sun newspaper of the MP playing Candy Crush Saga on his tablet during a Work and Pensions Committee session on pensions. Mr Mills, a member of the committee, was said to have played it over a period of two and half hours. He admitted he "probably had a game or two" but said he was "fully engaged". ... The House of Commons authorities have now launched an investigation because the photographs in The Sun of Mr Mills playing Candy Crush were a breach of parliamentary rules. A Commons spokesman said the Serjeant at Arms' probe could lead to the person who took them being banned from the Houses of Parliament.
Getting caught playing games in most workplaces will land you in deep trouble but "a game or two" is acceptable for an MP? Sack him. As for the person who took the photos, I think they should get a minor slap on the wrist for breaking the rules and nothing more. The fact an MP is playing video games during a hearing is the bigger problem.
He admitted he "probably had a game or two" but said he was "fully engaged".
oh come on that is the most bullshit thing I've heard all week
IT'S JUST BEJEWELLED
Yeah I love when MPs (ours had a massive row over it this month) want to further rise their already highly above average salary when they can afford to go to work and just play games on a fucking tablet. For the money they get while requiring very little previous qualifications, I would expect them to sweat blood 8 hours a day, 5 days a week at the very least.
Anyone who even begins to talk shit about this doesn't deserve the air they're using. The UK's government just started passing massive censorship laws, and this is what's got you all in an uproar? Really guys?
Its so hard to find a job these days but you can sit around and be and an mp and play games during a hearing truly candy crush will decide the fate of this fine country [editline]8th December 2014[/editline]
Anyone who even begins to talk shit about this doesn't deserve the air they're using. So perhaps you should start there instead of taking the bait of a circus.
BUT THINK OF THE CHILDREN

This reminds me of the time a screenshot of an American politician playing online poker on his iPhone. A lot of news outlets were really phased by it, it just makes me think of politicians as big school kids on their phones under the desk in class.

So playing poker isn't against the rules, because they don't even have to be there. Also I'm like 90% sure that was John McCain.
God, fuck candy crush You can't imagine how fucking annoyed I am, when I'm up on the train at 8am to work and a train carriage full of middle aged women and men are PLAYING FUCKING CANDY CRUSH, and at the full volume on their phones and tablets. Fuck. It even drowns out the sound of the train tracks. Sweet! Tasty! Sugar Crush! And the fucking music Jesus christ.
Atleast it wasnt bad as when everybody played Flappy bird. Those fucking pings.
If I was an MP I would refuse to attend any committee or session of parliament without being allowed to play CS:GO on my desktop with a 30" monitor and full surround sound setup, also I must be permitted to shout obscenities at other players and chug the Mountain Dew I bought on expenses. Anything less would be an infringement of my human rights
I hoped that the MP was settling it in in Smash Bros. What an absolute casual.
It irks me that they didn't report what type of committee it was in the article itself. If this had been a Public Bill Committee, I would have forgiven him because of how pointless those are particularly as they are incredibly time intensive, but it turns out he was in a select committee. That's an important method of scrutiny, so his behaviour shows a complete disregard for the importance of his position as a member of the PAC.
In a new foreign aid package announced last week, the government will be spending £4.75bn on providing "Ah Vay Pays" to Eastern European countries. These shall be used to "rush B", with other plans being scrapped under David Cameron's recently commissioned white paper, "Noob Team"
A couple years ago here in Colorado we caught a state senator playing games on her phone during a testimony about someone who was raped during a discussion about some bills that had a lot of people riled up.
Isn't there a porno movie actress called Candy Crush

I'm also pretty sure it was McCain
