• Is the cat Happy or Stressed?

For three days ago my little sister found a cat without a collar. We took it in and gave it food, we decided to keep her until we find the owners. Its a young cat and very playful and cute. Now its inside our house and she has her bed there. Everytime she comes in and we pet her she goes prr, prr, prr, prrr. and breaths heavely. I heard that cats can be stressed OR its that they say they'r all right. The cat shakes her tail witch means shes happy right? I dont want to do make the cat afraid so i want to ask Facepunch about this. Is the cat Happy or Stressed?
probably stressed, give her a cigarette
probably stressed, give him a cigarette
Agree with this man.
It means that the cat is appreciative that it can freeload off of your home. Yeah, it's happy chappy.
purring is good broseph
Some cats shake their tails all the time. Nothing out of the ordinary.
The cat is high.
purring is good, tip of the tail twitching is okay, Whole tail wagging and its annoyed or aggravated (or similar)
He jest wonts to gets hiz prostitooots [editline]05:45AM[/editline] -snip-
I've only ever heard of cats purring out of stress when they've been hit by a car or something similarly traumatic. If the cat gets pissed, you'll probably find out pretty quick. Edit: They have claws.
It's probably thankful. I agree with Carnotite. Try bringing the cat outside with you for a walk, or just open the door for a little bit with him watching. If he hates you, he'll split. If he sticks around, he likes you.
Forcefully make you're cat drink 1 vodka bottle, it works in Russia.

The "prr, prr, prr, prrr. and breaths heavely." means that it's happy, every cat does that when it's satisfied. Though when it moves its tail it means hes annoyed.
Though when it moves its tail it means hes annoyed.
False. That varies from cat to cat, and also the way they move their tail.
Purring means it's furious. You have angered it in some way... I can't even do it. This is too hilarious.
It means that the cat is appreciative that it can freeload off of your home. Yeah, it's happy chappy.
When I'm chappy, I'm not happy. :saddowns:

Your petting is causing internal hemorrhaging to the cat and it is purring and breathing heavily out of sheer agony of its organs collapsing
give it gin and ammonia FELL IT MAN
Your petting is causing internal hemorrhaging to the cat and it is purring and breathing heavily out of sheer agony of its organs collapsing
This indeed. Upon further review, it appears the "purring" you hear is the cat gurgling its own blood, trying not to let any out of its mouth and ruin your day.

Don't get another cat, lest you have a catsplosion on your hands.
Ohohoho, Dwarf Fortress reference.

be careful: the cat is incredibly horny
With my cat if I put my hand out, about let's say 6 inches from his face, he'll lean forward a bit. That means he's happy and I can pet him. If I put my hand out and he stays still or turns his head away, it means I should leave him alone for now.
Agree with this man.
Dumb with this man.
Everytime she comes in and we pet her she goes prr, prr, prr, prrr. and breaths heavely.
If somebody petted me and I started breathing heavily I'd be happy :smug:
Ignore the trolls! I speak the truth: When its purring and breathes like a snotty baby on crack (Or heavily as people say): Its happy, also if its tail is waving, i think every cat has its own meaning with this. My grannies has alot of cats, and one of them is born tame, when its tail waves, its excited/curious, it loves doing social experiments, like going to the "Scary big two legged guys" while all the elder cats are watching..
