It pisses me off that Youtube's copyright claim system is so broken, and nothing will get done about it until a moderately large channel gets taken down completely for bullshit reasons and there's a huge uproar (and face it, this will happen eventually).

I'm almost willing to bet Nintendo will be involved in some way shape or form. But lets face it, who doesn't abuse Youtube's copyright bullshit? Especially when they make it so damn easy.

Nintendo is being an asshole in a lot of ways, but they almost never issue copyright takedowns. I doubt it's going to be them.
There is no punishment for issuing bullshit takedowns as long as it's about content you own. If you issue a bullshit takedown about content you don't own, or impersonate the owner of that content, you can be charged with perjury (it tells you this on the form where you issue the takedown).
