BAH he edited the title
Looks like it could become really uncomfortable on the neck after playing for long periods of time but overall it looks great.
Fuck I want one so bad.

As long as it's light it'll be fine.
yo ima say right quick that the flying lotus background music is tight as hell
I will pay the money up front and just SIT on the damn thing if I have to. I'll just get it and wait for the titles to come in.
so it's heavy goggles with a screen that has built in track IR, or am I missing something?
I've had half a mind to get both the dev and consumer version of this. But since they don't have positional tracking (lean forward or sideways) on the dev kit, I feel as though it would eventually get to me in a bad way. The wait for the consumer version is going to be long and painful.
I am genuinely curious as to what it looks like through one lens. I mean, the resolution is only so much, and the "screen door" effect being taken into account, I would just like an image or picture or something showing what exactly you are going to see. Oh well, maybe we'll get a gander in march when the hobbyists and outsiders get a chance to take a picture.
"my eyes are watery"
Sounds like eye damage to me.
diss looks cray-zee

I imagine it's just because his eyes haven't completely adjusted to it. Same thing happens to me with 3D movies. My eyes get watery for a while and then I can see crystal clear.
Pfft, I'd rather play with one of these:

I'd imagine it was from the intensity or sheer excitement and euphoria.
I cracked up when I heard someone in the background shouted, "sonic the hedgehog"
Looks good, but I'd want to try it before I buy it though
Fuck, that looks too good to be true
Hopefully they have it streamlined alot before releasing it.
The reason why things like this fail is because nobody wants to wear a pieces of equipment to further enjoy a digital experience.
It's why 3D TV has failed.
I hope this somehow doesn't follow that trend.

This is really different, though. 3D TV requires glasses for a minimal step up. Even assuming it worked amazingly and you didn't get headaches, you were still just sitting in front of a screen. The whole point of the rift is to be more immersed.
You didn't see people sitting in front of glasses required 3D TVs in 80s/90s sci-fi; you did, however, see plenty of VR headsets.
Man, Fallon just did this amazing piece of hardware ZERO fucking justice.
He wore it for like 15 seconds, and was like "It's cool"
BBBAAAAAHHHH!
YOU SEE DAT SWORD? OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I am actually excited for what this experience could be like and what it could bring to the world. Too bad I have no way to try it out without buying it.
What comes next after this?
We're about to go into one of the major eras in gaming within a matter of months... Can you guys imagine what kinds of innovation will come after this is considered old and obsolete?
If Half Life 3 still isn't out by then I swear to god
I'd love this for games with big worlds like Skyrim, but I think fast-paced shooty action might get a bit clunky because of how much you have to move. But I want to play at least one game of Blacklight Retribution since it's about supersoldiers tapping their goggles/helmets for an augmented reality vision wallhack. :v:
God I want to know what it looks like through those goggles so fucking badly
oh shit it's akileezmight
i've been wondering how hes been doing after the tester
Getting my dev kit in March. Can't fucking wait.

This is completely different from the 3D TV fad. It's a tool for very immersive game experiences, and they market it as such. They're not trying to force this thing into the living room. It's a piece of potentially revolutionary gaming gear.

I'm tempted to get one as well but I'd honestly just wait for the consumer version in 2014 with all the kinks worked out
