Kid on "America's Got Talent" Goes Through For Flying A Fucking Kite

Now, I like this show's auditions. I even like AI auditions, but the show on the whole isn't amazing.
Now, last night, I watched an audition that kind of pissed me off. I think it was fixed to make the judges not look like complete assholes.
There's this kid, about 17 or something and his "talent" is that he flies kites. He flies kites. He flies. Fucking. Kites.
Here it is.

I honestly think that it was a sympathy vote because he has epilepsy.
Is the kid worth pity? Of course! He looks like a nice guy, and he has something that I wouldn't wish upon anybody...but is it a million dollar act?
Would you pay good money to watch this for 2 hours?
Honestly, I was just left scratching my head by the end of it.
What do you guys think?
Maybe it's just way way harder than it looks
Pity votes.
I don't know how to fly kites.
Oh boy...
Also, I agree with OP.
Talent is talent. Flying a kite may require the smallest degree of it, but his performance was probably filled with heart which is what judges want to see. Forget a guy who juggles elephants, if he's an asshole he won't make it anywhere.
Epilepsy plus fame isn't a great combo... flash photography.
I don't know how difficult that kite is to actually fly, but the performance and showmanship was pretty cool. I can see it being some sort of art.
But you're probably not that far out of line if you think he got pity votes.
He's just a young fella and he is proud of his talent.
They did so they wont look like ass to the viewers, he will be gone later.
Hey, that scamo magician got in, judges are a bit ehhhh
I want that gravity group to win, the white guys with the glowing balls.
Pro tip: Stop taking terrible reality shows from the UK.

and then Canada takes THEM from the US.
Goddamn it, leave it to one show.
So no flashing lightwork in his act then?

There has been plenty of shows that the UK stole from the US as well.
Oh boo hoo he has Epilepsy. I have Epilepsy and he gets no pity from me.

None of us want them, don't blame us.
The act was pretty cool actually
indoor kites take a lot of practice to be able to fly with that level of precision
That actually looks quite difficult considering how big the kite is.
Well at least you don't have an old man dressed as Darth Vader dancing like Michael Jackson in the semi finals..

For performances like this they should have one of the judges try it. Then when the kid does it the right way people will have a better understanding of how much talent he has.
Is it bad that I was just waiting for him to have a seizure?
Kite ballet
flying a kite indoors with no draft. talent.
Epilepsy is a talent.

Well many American's have stolen many great Canadian inventions because they didn't have a patent. So don't go blowing your horn too much.
epic.
