[release]Filling in for Sean Hannity on Fox News, Tucker Carlson reworked the penal code and dropped a small bombshell, saying that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick "should have been executed" for killing dogs.
"I'm a Christian. I've made mistakes myself. I believe fervently in second chances," Carlson said as he filled in as host of Sean Hannity's Fox show. "But Michael Vick killed dogs and he did it in a heartless and cruel way. I think personally he should have been executed for that. He wasn't."
The catalyst for the conversation was President Obama's remark about Vick's rehabilitation and resuscitated career earlier this week. The talk was more about Obama than Vick, who has been one of the NFL's success stories this year (he was named the NFC quarterback in the Pro Bowl on Tuesday) and a TV ratings magnet. (Let's not even mention the fantasy football implications of Carlson's comment.)
It's a lot of hot air, of course, about a man who did not commit a death-penalty crime. He received a 23-month sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation and served his time in the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan., not the kind of place they send TV celebrities and commentators when they're found guilty of wrongdoing. He speaks publicly and openly about the crimes he committed. It may still be difficult to root for Vick or simply to wish him well -- even his employers view his probation as open-ended -- but executed? Really?[/release]
What a goon.

I don't think he should be executed, but I think he deserved a longer stay in jail.
Clearly not a cat person.
I didn't know that people on the news were supposed to express their opinions.

It's ok if the network you work for is biased.

Yeah, especially on Fox News, the single news outlet that isn't totally right-wing biased out there!
*cough*

Hate Fox news because of one persons opinion. Apparently Fox News raised this guy from Birth and he expresses every interest that Fox does.
GG.
Sgt: It's the lovely technique of explaining your contradiction so that it seems somehow like it's not a contradiction.
As much as I love dongs and think what he did was wrong, execution is waaaay too much of a serious punishment and he definitely doesn't deserve it.
sounds like a facepuncher
oh boy here come the fox news apologists (i.e. upper-middle class white chiristans)
when you edited, you forgot to spell "christians" correctly, you should do it while you are at it.
This isn't even worth arguing over
aren't those the majority of fp users
I wonder if he thinks Sarah Palin should be killed for sport hunting?
Oh wait, she's a conservative white woman

What you think happens when you ask political questions from 13 year olds (or mentally 13 year olds like part of the teabaggers, the other part may be 15)
what
he's saying they're either literally 13 or their maturity and morality is comparable to a 13/15 year olds
All i know is that when the Eagles signed him half of the city fought with the other half about it.
Now the whole city loves him: Until he makes a mistake, then we're ready to hand him over to the executioner.
That's Philly Fans for you, we're that honest.
So is he going to get fired or what?
So is he going to get fired or what?
It's Fox, so he'll be promoted to CEO.
oh boy here come the fox news apologists (i.e. upper-middle class white chiristan conservatives)
You have the White part correct... Good job.
No, I am not some awesome Fox News supporter. I could care less, I watch all the news channels. If I am watching something ON ANY NETWORK and something interests me, I look it up.
It feels like a lot of people hate Fox because it is the bandwagon thing to do. People will Google up reasons to hate Fox, but I guarantee the majority of people that complain about Fox don't even watch the news.
Funny, he sounds like most facepunchers who post in the news.

Funny, he does, doesn't he?
Although, apparently, all of Facepunch are a bunch of god-like liberals. *eye roll*
