Fear is not a choice, where not robots and this movie smells funny. I love sci fi, but this gives me a battlefield earth vibe if you know what I mean.
Oh come on a futuristic life supporting space ship wouldn't get hit by an asteroid
I can't wait. Will Smith is one of my favorite actors.
Shit, earth. Get your shit together man.

I'm guessing your argument is being supported by examples of present day life supporting inter-stellar space ships not getting hit by asteroids? Plus we don't know the circumstances of said emergency so we can't really make assumptions.
After saving the earth from the likes of the cancer vampires, Will Smith saves earth yet again.

Not if the fusion reactor fails causing the heat coils to burst. I have a degree in this stuff I'm all about it.
Oh come on a futuristic life supporting space ship wouldn't get hit by an asteroid
Something clearly went wrong before they hit the asteroid. Perhaps human error played a part in it. I'm interested in seeing this but only because I feel like it's one of those movies that is made for suspense and I haven't seen a decent suspense movie in a while. Who knows, maybe this one will be okay.

I guess Earth DID get it's shit together, considering everything on the planet evolved to kill what was/is killing it.
In this case that being us :v:

Honestly this looks like it has a high chance of being pretty bad on the likes of John Carter and Prometheus. I'm willing to suspend disbelief but it seems like we are currently in a wave of high-production CGI sci-fi movies with super "otherworldly" stuff and action thrown in that look cool only in a trailer but the movie itself has zero substance in the plot, writing, etc. In other words sci-fi that is just done for the sake of looking cool and having colorful effects instead of actually being a good sci-fi movie
That terrible "animal CG" that everyone and their mother uses for monsters doesn't help this. And not to mention the Avatar feeling was strong with this trailer
It's yet another M Night Shyamalan movie. He hasn't made an even somewhat decent movie in ages. Yeah, pass.

But it's Will Smith!
the hell is this shit?
That crash site did not look realistic at all.
i have a hard time believing will and the kid survived falling through the atmosphere with a large number of holes in the ship
fuckin m night
The fact that Will survived that ordeal on the spaceship when he was being thrown like a fucking ragdoll is a bit beyond belief

Since it's an M Night, here's the twist:
[sp]They never actually make it to the planet. The whole movie happens in Will's or son's head in the few moments between hull breach and death.[/sp]
m night shamalalala?
I wonder if the twist is that it's actually the sequel to the recent planet of the apes
It looks like they show a bunch of prehistoric animals. So I bet the twist is either they went back in time, or they are supposed to be the "first humans" on Earth.
I'll give it a chance, but it looks lame.

Adam and Adams son.

Somehow repopulate.
Gonna give it a chance, can't be god awful. It's got Will in it, he could turn this movie around.
Interesting story but it turning out to be good is very slim.
