Prince William and Prince Harry ‘secretly filmed’ cameos for the upcoming Star Wars movie.
Their royal highnesses were photographed on set at Pinewood Studios last week to meet the cast and crew of the sequel to December’s The Force Awakens.
According to the Mail On Sunday, the princes had the opportunity to film a cameo in the new film as Stormtroopers.
A source said: ‘The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set. What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to ‘get suited’ and off they went to the wardrobe department.’
‘The Princes dressed up in full Stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base. The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicio del Toro’s character when a group of Stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.’
Does this really count as a cameo? For all we'll be able to tell those Stormtroopers are just extras.

They'll probably have a line like Daniel Craigs stormtrooper.
I wish I was born into a pretend dictatorship so that I too could get free shit based on absolutely no merit.
Way to keep the secret.

Who was Daniel Craigs stormtrooper? Traitor guy?
Rey's cell guard
Maybe this time he'll be a better stormtrooper [t]http://img3.telestar.fr/var/telestar/storage/images/media/images/2014/photos/2014-12-05-prince-harry-photos-trash-frasques-les-coups-d-eclats-du-fils-de-lady-di-diaporama/le-prince-harry-se-deguise-en-nazi/612517-1-fre-FR/Le-prince-Harry-se-deguise-en-nazi_max1024x768.jpg[/t]

The mind controlled trooper in the interrogation chamber.

She's just about to put it into her mouth, mate.

What?
Every time I see Prince William lately, I feel really sorry for him. He's balding so badly, but he can't really shave it off or try and cover it up, what with him being royalty (gotta maintain an image). He's just gotta suck it up as he slowly loses his hair and looks terrible.

I do dreadfully hope that my mother or father had been the head of a monarchical system so that I myself as well as them, could have reaped the many benefits of being part of said system, regardless of both achievements in life and academic success.
William was educated at four schools in the United Kingdom and obtained a degree from the University of St Andrews. He spent parts of a gap year in Chile, Belize, and Africa. In December 2006, he completed 44 weeks of training as an officer cadet, being commissioned in the Blues and Royals Regiment. In April 2008, he qualified as a pilot (earning his wings) by completing pilot training at Royal Air Force College Cranwell. He then underwent helicopter flying training in order to become a full-time pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force in early 2009. His more than seven-and-a-half years of full-time service with the British Armed Forces ended in September 2013.[3][4]

After an education at schools in the United Kingdom and spending parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho, Harry chose a military career, undergoing officer training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a Cornet into the Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Regiment, serving temporarily with his brother, and completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–2008, he served for 77 days in Helmand, Afghanistan[2] but was pulled out following publication of his presence there by an Australian magazine.[3] He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–2013 with the Army Air Corps.[4] He left the army in June 2015.
They've both been in the army. They didn't sit around doing nothing.

Do you also wish you could spend your entire adult life devoted to representing your country, and have your every move scrutinised and your privacy invaded? Do you wish that you had little choice over your career but had a legacy resting on your shoulders and the eyes of the world upon you, with no choice but to do your duty, Master Edgelord? Nice username, by the way.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not the Royals' biggest fan but if you think they just breeze along in life getting everything for free without a care in the world... well, frankly you're a moron.

Yeah but you're forgetting that it isn't just William going up, but also Harry. It is literally just because they're royalty. And people love to throw in the "OH AND DEY DID THA ARMY 2!!11". Yeah? So fuckin what? What about other people doing time in the army too? Also. pretty sure calling people morons constitues as flaming. Finally, since when was being anti-monarchy in any way edgy? Are you fucking serious?

I think you view their contributions too little, it wasn't just their military service, which by the way Harry had to fight for because he was engaging in active combat, they both are heavily envolved in charity work, and lots of other shit.

They are basically celebrities. It really isn't any different than how children of celebrities often become celebrities themselves.

Which is also dumb.

I take it you weren't celebrating the Queen's birthday a few days ago?

Throwing millions of pounds at one family in particular for no reason other than accident of birth isn't a universally popular opinion in the UK. Especially with the current policy of austerity under the Conservative government.

The royal family gives us tons of benefits though and they easily pay us back through tourism alone. They also keep a friendly link between places like Canada and Australia. I don't get the anti Royal sentiment from people.
I mean someone's "achievements" don't guarantee them a spot as a Stormtrooper in a Star Wars movie, either.
It's literally probably like a 30 second cameo that they're getting because popular celebrities get movie roles like that for funsies.
You don't have to go out and get a degree in "Star Wars Cameo Acting" to get chosen for that.

I never said anything specifically about either William or Harry - they both do a huge amount of charity/philanthropic work and work as ambassadors for the country. I also never mentioned the army, I was referring to the fact that they have been - and will be - in the public eye their entire lives, they will never be able to just go about their own business without being bothered. I am pointing out that there is a price to pay for the 'free shit'.
And as for the edgy comment - you came into a thread about them visiting a film set and in the 4th post made a snarky comment about them being 'without merit' - it didn't have much relevance to this story and was sure to rile people up. So don't act like I'm mad for pointing that out. Yes, I am serious.
They dedicate their lives to being ambassadors for their country and help bring in a huge amount of money through tourism. I'm not going to get mad if they get to visit the odd film set.

It wouldn't give off the right image for the son of a monarch. The skinhead look doesn't really give merit to the whole royalty image.
I was hoping they would be imperial officers but I guess they don't want that sort of image.
