• Vauxhall / Opel Corsa B Thermostat - WHAT THE HELL, GM? Seriously!

So our trusty Corsa started overheating, and I told my girlfriend, don't worry, at the worst it's the radiator fan. Turns out I was wrong. Where is the engineer that thought it was a good idea to place the thermostat on the water pump and thus require me to replace the timing belt and the water pump if the thermostat breaks? I would like to punch him in the face. Replacing a thermostat is a 15€ job on any other car. I'll be lucky to get away with 300 because I've got neither the tools nor the time to do it myself. What the fuck, GM?
Which engine does it have ? X12XE ? z12xep ? I can tell you how its really done
Enjoy. Welcome to any car manufacturer that does not give a duck about the DIY man.
ftfy
An up to 21 years old "modern" car.. It's a Corsa B, after all. But, yeah. The 1st gen Kangoo has one engine, i forgot which one, where, IIRC, you have to remove the lower engine mount and the exhaust manifold to get to the starter motor. Or maybe it was just the cat and the engine mount. Either way it's a bitch.
