So, about 3 weeks ago, I found out that my dad smokes weed and how he always knew when I was high at home. He said he smokes it with his friends and gave me a small bag of weed. I asked him and he said his friend grows and can get weed for nearly half price from him.
So I was wondering if I should ask him to buy me some weed if I gave him the money.
Although, I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

Well he did tell you that he can get weed for half the price, so judging by that he seems okay with it. If he didn't want you asking for weed he wouldn't have said that to you. But that's just how I see it anyways. Just ask him, man. Hope for the best. If he rages, you can always threaten to tell on him.
No harm in asking, he knows you smoke already and its more business for his friend.

You shouldn't tell to your friends about the grow-op of your dad's friend. Don't even talk about your dad and weed, or his friends, or growing or what-ever.
What I suggest you to do is to simply ask him, if I had a son, and I knew he was smoking, I'd prefer to sell him weed for cheap instead of him getting ripped off by other dealers.

Distribution is distribution, cops don't give a shit if you got anything for it, they care that you gave it to somebody else.
Actually, you'll get into a fuckload more trouble if you're caught selling than if you're caught giving it out. If there is money involved, it is distribution and if you have more you could even get pinned with intent to distribute.

I feel the same way. I don't understand why he would contradict himself like that he GAVE you stuff but won't GIVE you stuff if hes getting money in return? That makes no since I suggest maybe when you feel the time is right buying some weed from a different dealer (of lower quality) and offer to split a J with your dad. Mention how bad it is and how much you paid (that you were ripped off) chances are he won't want you buying from this source again and perhaps let you buy from his friend? Can't hurt to try right?

Either way I honestly can't see how being given weed by your dad is worse than being sold potentially dodgy weed from some guy you don't know.
