http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/what-car-hornhappy-drunk-stuns-highway-patrol-20101227-1982q.html [release]A drink-driver more than five times the legal limit tooted his horn at a highway patrol then told stunned officers he didn't know he was driving a car, police say. Victoria Police spokesman Sergeant Wayne Wilson said the Nunawading highway patrol car was parked in Whitehorse Road Box Hill about 8.25pm yesterday when a car went past. "This was nothing unusual except police attention was drawn to the vehicle as the driver was tooting his horn and waving at police as he drove past," Sergeant Wilson said. Police pulled over and breath tested the driver, who recorded a blood-alcohol reading of .278. The man had his licence withdrawn immediately and will face court at a later date in relation to the matter. "When asked why he was driving like that, the man told police he was unaware he was driving a car," Sergeant Wilson said.[/release] Good excuse, but how fucking drunk do you have to be to honk at the cops?
love that response haha. ive done that many a times. boxes away!
"I swear officer, I was at the bar and the next thing I knew you pulled me over!"
Makes me proud to be from Victoria
there was a guy around here that flipped his car and when paramedics came they noticed he was drunk, when questioned he said he grabbed a flask of whiskey to keep warm after the crash. he got away with it.
Wow man..... some people are just nuts!
there was a guy around here that flipped his car and when paramedics came they noticed he was drunk, when questioned he said he grabbed a flask of whiskey to keep warm after the crash. he got away with it.
That's brilliant.
Wayne wilson is my neighbour and i steal his wifi with my iPod touch :clint:
30 beers? Holy crap. Yeah, if you get that plastered everything just starts to blend together.
I read the title as: Drunk diver who had 30 beers didn't know he was diving. That situation would have been 10 x better.
And to think he could have gotten away with it.
I read the title as: Drunk diver who had 30 beers didn't know he was diving. That situation would have been 10 x better.
Turns out he was diving in a brewery.
I hope he isn't charged with anything, he wasn't conscious so it's hardly his fault. I support a breathalyzer test to start your car.
I hope he isn't charged with anything, he wasn't conscious so it's hardly his fault.
It was his fault for not arranging transportation. If you get drunk, anything you do while drunk is your fault.
I support a breathalyzer test to start your car.
But if you used mouthwash before you got in your car, you'd be boned.
It was his fault for not arranging transportation. If you get drunk, anything you do while drunk is your fault.
It's like sleepwalking. Would you like to be charged for murder because you killed someone in your sleep? It's no one's fault, it's just an accident. Measures should be employed to prevent them from happening. Punishing him won't do shit.

Just because you got high doesn't mean you should get off free.

You can't control when you sleepwalk; you can control when you get piss-drunk.
Suprised he was even conscious after 30 beers.

You don't "accidentally" get that drunk, it takes effort. He should have known better.
I read it as 30 bees. I was confused.
you can control when you get piss-drunk.
Hardly
lol reminds me of yesterday night when i ended up buying both the tequilas for me and my friend. three or five steps off the bar counter and my friend vomited in the middle of the bar floor, the bouncer come up saying whats going on and my friend just said "wasn me.."
Hardly
I didn't drink the beers I swear they all just forced themselves into my stomach.
I didn't drink the beers I swear they all just forced themselves into my stomach.
Oh he meant BEFORE you're drunk.
Hardly
If your self control is so poor you can't stop yourself from drinking, you shouldn't be allowed to hold sharp objects much less drive a car.
there was a guy around here that flipped his car and when paramedics came they noticed he was drunk, when questioned he said he grabbed a flask of whiskey to keep warm after the crash. he got away with it.
If you can't prove they were drunk well driving you can't be arrested. The easiest way to get away is start drinking because there is no way to tell what level you were at when you crashed. Though if you done killed someone don't bother that will just make it worse.
30 beers?! That's hard work. I tried drinking 30 beers this summer at a BBQ, got to 24 cans after 7 hours of drinking and passed out. It's harder than you think.
I don't know why you would want even 10 beers. Even still, had he not honked at the police, he could just gone home, had a spew, passed out, wake up, spew, keep spewing, pass out again and wake up with a headache.
