Russian troops have moved into Crimea in what Moscow is calling a mission to “protect Black Sea Fleet’s positions” but which the Ukrainian government has denounced as an “armed intervention.”
The Russian foreign ministry said Friday that it had informed the Ukrainian government that armoured units from the Black Sea Fleet base near Sevastopol had entered Crimea in order to protect fleet positions.
“The Ukrainian side was also passed a note regarding the movement of armoured vehicles of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, which is happening in full accordance with the foundation Russian-Ukrainian agreement on the Black Sea Fleet,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Friday afternoon.
Note fleet positions, the telegraph sensationalizes this and shows a image of unknown men in Simferopol. The BBC wouldn't do this.
I'm surprised the Ukraine hasn't fought back

It's a matter of time now.
I'm surprised the Ukraine hasn't fought back
What are they supposed to do? They'll get smashed by Russia.
Ohhhh dear.

Basically something that has been happening since the Sevastopol base has existed.

I can see russia literally invading the ukraine as something that would not exactly be the best for russia geopolitically. If their troops are evicted from the country by Ukraine it's reasonable to assume that that's not a valid reason for all out war, especially if russia openly admits to moving them there. But wars have been fought over more pointless things. To clarify, this is barring any official agreements among them. But if they blockaded airports and whatnot...
Well, this all is turning into a round spout of interesting. Not sure how I feel about it.
I've heard conversation that the Ukrainian's in the area are actually rather supporting of the "Russian Intervention", whereas its more the Ukrainian government that's upset and soiling their undies in wonder and shock.
But, I nor anyone I have spoken to about this has ever stepped foot into Ukraine. Just something to add.
Since those units there don't have any markings, killing them means no war since those "russian" forces are there illegally, therefore killing them means no war since they wear no markings. But of course, since there are those retarded russian speaking people who support russia, would attempt to fight back too and Ukrainian forces would have to kill them too and that would give Russia a casus belli why to invade Ukraine.

Shooting at people with guns means that the people with guns will shoot back

From what I understand, there's two halves of the country, one supports Russia, the other the West.

Not just the goverment, but the people.
I'm surprised the Ukraine hasn't fought back
They can't, Russia has more active soldiers than Ukraine does active and reserve.
But what about the weird airport shit?
That wasn't Russian army. That was militia made of Ukrainian citizens. Russia isn't responsible for them (even tho they are obviously Russia sympathizers).
Welp. Ukraine is Кістка'd.
I wish them the best of luck.

Better than getting smashed without a fight (which, buy the way things are going, seems likely).
I'm surprised the Ukraine hasn't fought back
Their military is weak as piss at the moment, everyone is trying to find their ground
So, what's the story behind this? They're done with the political BS with joining them, so they're just going to go take it?
Best thing they can do is just to make their occupation look as illegal as possible. Fighting back just allows them to annex Ukraine. Even in its prime, Ukraine is no match for Russia.

Ha yeah wouldn't that be great, lots of pointless death and misery
