The Pontiac Solstice might be revived by the DeLorean Motor Company?

DeLorean's Facebook page offers a cryptic message: "What if John DeLorean were still alive? Some of his greatest automotive accomplishments were at Pontiac, and now the Solstice is a new car without a brand, and DeLorean is brand without a new car..."

Not necessarily the strangest piece of news I've heard this week, but this certainly comes close.
On a related side-note, they sell newly built DeLorean DMC-12's with optional GPS, better engines, and seat warmers now? Great, now I want one.
They'll be able to go back in time to before Pontiac was shut down
It will still be an ugly car.The solstice is hideous.
My brain would explode with awesome-ness if the DMC came back.

They say the same thing about Deloreans. Do I still want one? YES
The Solstice has... interesting looks, but didn't the actual car kinda suck?

Apprently a new DMC started in Houston a while back, though they've pretty much done nothing but service the old DMC-12s and started making new ones since last year.
It's a ploy for the new Back to the Future Movie, where Marty has Parkinsons, so they have to go back in time to stop him from getting it.
Holy shit! I want a DMC-12! I love DeLoreans.
that thing looks awesome
DMC-12 is just so classy.
Wonder if the new cars will come with a flux capacitor built in, or do you have to install it yourself?
The grill reminds me of Aston Martins.
Wikipedia says they're only making about 20 a year
Wat.

DMC-12's that is
I saw a couple DeLoreans DMC-12s (probably the replicas made by that company in Texas) driving around in the last month or so. I never saw one before that, though, so it was kinda strange.
And that concept art looks sexy. Well, so does the Solstice.
If it doesn't come with a stainless steel body, I'm not buying one.
Then what about Hummer, Saab, and Saturn
Saab
What about it

They're custom ordered on request kiddo. They're not really "new" DeLoreans. They simply opened up a new plant in Houston with a shit-ton of old DeLorean parts from 1983. The design is slightly improved with new stuff like bluetooth, heated seats, and a awesome soundsystem.
But because they cost 57 grand starting price, and its not widely known; they make it on custom order. They don't have an assembly line pumping out DeLoreans as we speak.
Then what about Hummer, Saab, and Saturn
Roger Penske bought Saturn, but the Penske group has no way of manufacturing the cars yet.

And only about 20 are made per year.
Where the fuck did DMC come from? I thought they died a long, long time ago. :O

Time travel is a hell of a thing.
DMCs can be a good car for crushing the Solstice
Who cares, they should stick to building the classic delorean.
They need to lower the price a bit some how though, $60k for a new delorean is fucking stupid when it only has around 130hp.
Back.... to the.... past?

Unfortunately they can't.
They don't have the luxury of a massive assembly line that can make cars quickly and efficiently.
No mass production means the price per unit goes way up.

Hopefully people will pick up on this and they'll be able to get somewhere.

The deal fell through a few weeks ago, Saturn's now destined for the scrap heap.
