(Wasn't sure if this would fit more in fast threads or here, so I went on a guess) (I tried finding the old thread, but after several search attempts I gave up) So, post here what books/concepts you'd love to see as a movie. If it's a book post a wikipedia link to it or something. Armor : This book is kind of like Starship Troopers, but it instead focuses a lot on the psychological aspect of a war against aliens. The main character "Felix" is also biggest badass I've ever encountered. With the right director this book would be amazing as a film. Imagine Starship Troopers + Band of Brothers. Call of Cthulhu: I'd imagine it'd be quite hard to make a proper movie out of this short story. The mythos is amazing, but Lovecraftian stories include a bunch of "Non-euclidean geometry" and "sights that make you insane". So I'm guessing it'd be quite hard to properly implement such stuff in a movie. Childhood's End : A "lesser" known story by Arthur C. Clarke, it's basically "Independence Day" without the aliens invading, but instead observing with a super cool agenda. The book is split into 3 well written parts, all with good characters. I can't go that much into detail because it'd spoil a lot. This book could fit very well as either a movie or a series.
Röde Orm: Simply the best book I've ever read. There's a film from 1964 that was roughly based on this novel, but this novel is so good it deserves a modern, proper production. Also if it ever will be done it must be very authentic and true to the novel. No half-assed lowbudget crap, and no hollywood crap.
Some cosmic horror story. For the love of God, some really eerie horrifying movie taking place in space that deals with some really weird, lovecraftian stuff would be amazing. I'd also like to see a movie that takes all my favorite things about the 16th century (the armour, the culture, fashion, e.g. 'the look') and makes a movie that heavily features them. It could be fantasy or historical fiction, it doesn't really matter. A series involving the Imperial Guard in the WH40k universe would be really cool. Maybe another series that shows the Horus Heresy could work too.

An overly violent, hilarious, swear filled Deadpool movie would be amazing.
I'm giving my A+++ Hollywood super-hit idea away. (I'm also seriously working with a development team to make a mod based on this idea) It's probably been done before in movies, many times. But a 2013 rendition of the idea would be cool, in my opinion. I don't care about the story just make it revolve around some Medieval/fantasy town wherein some evil Necromancer/dick does some Satanic ritual or forbidden Magick shit and starts a Zombie Apocalypse and then it's just these Medieval dudes dealing with Zombies, as you'd expect in the Walking Dead or 28 Days Later or some shit, except all they have to fight them are like hoes and shovels. and then there will be the scene where a group of survivors are walking through an eerie, dark abandoned Castle/Fortress Hall and all of a sudden one of the lying suits of armor stands up (because THERES AHMAHGAD A ZOMBIE INSIDE) and then they have to try to kill this armored undead zombie thing for about a scene and a half. Medieval Zombies yo, reel in the money while it's hot.

I want a movie that takes place in the middle ages, where every character uses the vernacular of today Also would love to see the childrens book series The Edge Chronicles animated
An action movie that beats RoboCop in graphic violence
A three part trilogy of the crusades. Something really heavy that sticks to history and has some big fuck off blood party battles in it to get the pulse beating. Kingdom of Heaven was the best so far. I remember reading Arnie was supposed to be doing a film called the Crusades years ago but never materialised. Thank fuck for that.
Dean Koontz Velocity
A proper Metal Gear adaption that isn't exactly a adaption of the video game 'Metal Gear Solid'. I would rather see a movie based on the original MSX games (My dream actor would be Liam Neeson as Big Boss). I would want it to be a tribute to both the games and the 80's action movies (Predator, Rambo, Commando). I would also like to see the robot in the movie designed similar to ED from Robocop and it could be cgi or stop-motion either way
Thrawn trilogy.
Command & Conquer Tiberium series.
Good space-scifi anything, especially horror [editline]9th October 2013[/editline]
Thrawn trilogy.
Yuuzhan Vong War and Jedi Civil War would be epic too [editline]9th October 2013[/editline] And I'm seconding any good medieval-era movies that stick to the source material. There's pretty epic shit in there

A movie where all the people on earth suddenly vanish, except for one man. There shall be no explanation as to why humanity dissapeared, and it would play entirely on raw human emotion and sanity. We would follow this lone individual battling nature and insanity as he explores the world endowed to him. I just want a movie that plays around with a strange concept we haven't seen before. No love-story, no action-drama, no comedy. Just something that catches our curiosity.
The Dark Tower series.
a Dredd sequel
someone should make a last airbender movie
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alchemist_(novel) could be a really heartfelt, fantastic flick... but realistically it wouldn't be made now... maybe in the 50s or 60s :(
I'd love to see The Last Policeman made into a film. Same with it's sequels.
Punisher sequel with Thomas Jane.
A movie about how a few guys working at a movie studio want to make a completely original movie that doesn't copy anything and is full of brand new ideas and concepts. They want to do this because they're fed up of the fat cats in charge always remaking older movies and making thousands of movies that follow the same shitty premise.

At the Mountains of Madness anything centering around the WH40k Inquisition [t]http://images.wikia.com/warhammer40k/images/5/59/Warhammer_40K_Dark_Heresy_by_henning.jpg[/t] Neuromancer a Star Wars spinoff from the average grunt's cannon fodder perspective; mature themes, gore and grimdark grit [t]http://godsofart.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/urban-combat.jpg[/t]
Crooked Little Vein : This would be such a disgustingly good mystery / american adventure movie. Also a proper adaptation of Less Than Zero and its sequel, Imperial Bedrooms.
At the Mountains of Madness
Guillermo Del Toro still says his adaptation is possible. Hopefully he gets the approval.
Guillermo Del Toro still says his adaptation is possible. Hopefully he gets the approval.
As far as I know he dropped it when Prometheus was announced, because they'd be so "similar" in nature. Personally I'd take "At the mountains of madness" over Prometheus any day.

But that was before he saw the film. Del Toro caught up with it and is no longer concerned. "Not really, I saw it finally and.. yes, there are things in common, but, you know, screw it. Lovecraft was there first," he laughed.
