1. Drew Brees(QB) of the New Orleans Saints

Someone who started out to be an average QB playing for the Chargers worked his way up to being one of the best in his franchise(Saints). In 2009 Drew Brees set the most pass yardage as a Saint's Player and was 15 yards shy of tying Dan Marino's all-time record of 5,084 pass yards. Drew was almost named AP Offensive Player of the Year in the 2009 season, and was a couple votes shy of winning the 2009 MVP trophy. Drew Brees has franchise records in both the NO Saints and the SD Chargers. One of which, is 300+ pass yards in 10 games, this record is tied with Rich Gannon for the most(10). Drew Brees has been the ultimate Saints player no doubt, and has been unstoppable against other teams. Expect him winning a AP MVP.
2. Brett Favre(QB) of the Green Bay Packers

Brett Favre is considered to be widely one of the best quarterbacks of all time and has records for just about every QB stat. The records he holds are listed below
64,000 pass yards
463 TDs
9,209 passing attempts
5,682 completions
163 wins as a starter
and 269 consecutive starts
Favre has also won 3 NFL MVP's which is tied with Jim Brown and Johnny Unitas for most of all time.
Favre being one of the oldest people to play in the NFL has retired 3 times. Once to return back to the packers, another to end his career in Green Bay and to start with the Jets, and the last to end his career probably forever. In my opinion, the best player of all time. f*ckin legendari!!
3. Kellen Winslow(TE) of the San Diego Chargers

Kellen Winslow was a Hall of Fame Tight End that played for the San Diego Chargers. During his career Winslow played in 5 pro bowls and 1 of which he shared co MVP with Eddie Murray and 3 all pro teams. In 1995 the Chargers inducted him into the Chargers hall of fame. Winslow has a son trying to be good as his dad, Kellen Winslow II, who plays for the Cleveland Browns and is also a TE. Kellen was also in the NFL 1985 all-decade team. The best TE of all time? No. The best TE of his time? Definitely. However, if he were to play to day, he wouldn't be as good.
4. Gene Upshaw(G) of the Oakland Raiders :siren: rest in peace :( :siren:

Gene Upshaw was a guard for the Oakland Raiders. With his career in Oakland he won 2 superbowls and was elected to 6 pro bowls, 4 time and 4 time all pro first team and all pro second team, and the 1970's all decade team. Gene was also the executive director of the National Football League Players Association.
Sadly, Gene died on August 20, 2008 on vacation with his wife.
5. OJ Simpson(RB) of the Buffalo Bills

OJ Simpson, or the Juice, is another hall of fame who played for The Bills for most of his career before starting for the 49ers. He is mostly known for playing in Buffalo. During his career for the Bills he averaged a 5.0 rushing average gained 11,300 rushing yards,60 rushing TDs, 5 all pro seasons, 6 pro bowl seasons, and one all offensive player of the year season. In college (USC) Simpson managed to get the Heisman Trophy which is the MVP but for college. Very fast. Very efficient. Just, one of the best running backs of all time, probably 4 in my list.

He's a drama queen who would rather milk reactions to his frequent "retirements" than actually leave the game in style, despite having been a miserable QB lately and steadily failing as he ages.
It was neat when he kept coming back to the Packers despite being old, it seemed like he just loved to play the game. Then we found out via the Jets that he's a prima donna with an unwarranted sense of self-importance. He was great, and could have left a hero in everybody's eyes had he retired gracefully, rather than try to bargain for a better deal and then play like a rookie for that season.
It's called football because the ball is a foot long :downs:
Interesting, do you have a source for this? I've never actually heard this answer.
FYI, I'm not some football evangelist, I couldn't really care less what it's called. I just think it's interesting how upset some Americans get when you point out the name is absurd to the rest of the world..

.
Well my favorite team is the Chicago Bears.
I'm a sophomore and I ran 40 yards today in 4.4.9 seconds, I'm the fastest or just about the fastest kid on my team, what other face punchers think.
(not trying to de-rail the thread)

cool
You could atleast answer my question..
Do you have a source for your statement?
so you're saying if somebody retires they don't love the game?
I'm saying if somebody "retires", then starts a rumor that they're going to come back (without mentioning that it's only if his pay increases), bargains using his existing fame for more money and special treatment, comes back with whoever will take him at that price (c'mon, the Jets needed him like a hole in the head), and then "retires" again and starts more rumors that he's going to come back again, he loves money, not the game.
Farve isn't paid because he has any relevant skill (look at his performance across his last three seasons), he's paid because the name means something to people, and the man has finally exposed himself as being well aware of this and milking it for everything he can. He's a whore.
You could atleast answer my question..
Do you have a source for your statement?
just google it.
A Jack Lambert post would make me happy.
ok i will write about him
You still didn't answer my question lol, so I'm just gonna assume you made it up.
Strange, I don't see anyone kicking a ball.
It's called "football" because it originally derived from rugby.
